[Scale Subthread] Gem Pro Scales

2mg ~ $80 - JScale JS-VG 20
1mg ~ $150 - MyWeigh Gempro 2
1mg ~ $200 - Acculab VIC-123

AFAIK these are the cheapest good quality scales.

We just bought a Gempro 250, for under 200 bux. GREAT scale, precise as hell, never moves more than a single mg in any direction, no matter how many times you take something on and off, I love it :)
I bought this one too. I hate batteries so I'm glad. I hope this is better :)

By the way I ordered a new scale this for measuring desoxy. Is is possible to measure 1-5 mg without using the water method.
Oh it's this one. http://www.mineralab.com/GemPro250.htm I'm new with this stuff.

I bought a Acculab VICON 123 a while back and it seems excellent. Does 0.001g ; now just need to get some paper weighing boats!
I should have bought that too. That one can read 120 g, mine only 50.

Why did I buy the Gempro250. Someone give me a bitch slap please.

Nothing wrong with a gempro (at least I doubt there is). I have a scale that is basically a gempro, but it's a different brand. I weigh my stuff out by weighing the gelcap, and then putting powder in the gelcap and weighing them together to figure out how much is in it. The gelcap weight (by itself) never fluctuates more than +/- .001g, and measured doses I've had seem to match what that dose intensity should be (so in other words it seems perfectly accurate as far as I can tell).

Eventually I'll probably get a set of weights just to see how completely accurate it is though

http://cgi.ebay.com/50g-001g-Pro-La...in_0?hash=item19b53e3253&_trksid=p3911.c0.m14

And if you really want a scale that can weigh over 50g, you might as well get some cheap one that doesn't have to be accurate. I don't see any case where you would need to weigh out psychedelics down to .001g at 50g+

okay so i have some options, everything seems to be overpriced around here and i dont want to buy online (cant wait).

gempro-50: 10g x .002g for $199
i-balance 101: 100g x .005g for $197
tanita diamond master 10g x .002g $379

now obviously the tanita will be better, but I want to keep it as close to $200 as possible. I will be weighing 2c-e mostly and mdma so I don't need a 100g scale so does anyone have opinions on the gempro?

all three of those scales are less precise than 0.001g... which to me is a necessity when measuring RC's (especially 2c-e with it's steep dose response curve)

you can find scales in the same price range online that are accurate to 0.001g, and given the amount of money you're spending I'd say the difference is worth the wait of delivery. This is the one I got: http://www.1800scales.com/VMC-VB-302A-Balances.html and I'm very very pleased with it.

:)

Damn it, my scale's broken. It drifts upward a few hundred milligrams even if there's no weight on it until the calibration is way off. Anybody know if a repair is at all possible?

It's a gempro 150 and overall I was pretty happy with it for the 2.5 years that I've had it. It's kinda cheaply made but it gave accurate measurements that I was pretty confident in until recently. :-/

Recently fully engaged in the world of RC's. It's a bitch going to my buddies to use his Gempro-250 so I gotta get a milligram scale. I've read the archived and new Big & Dandy Scale Threads twice now and still can't figure out what I need.

What is the most economic scale that can be used reliably to measure in the 5-10 mg dose rage? I'm willing to weigh doses out numerous times and calculate the average, but I need something reliably accurate.

I'll be weighing out:

2C-E - 4-HO-MiPT - 4-AcO-DMT

and probably
4-HO-DiPT - 5-MeO-MiPT - 5-MeO-DMT

and who knows what else I might get my hands on?

I am thinking about possibly getting the Acculab Vic-123 but I don't think I want to have it plugged in all the time.

Also thinking about the GemPro-250.

5-MeO-DMT must be weighed in individual doses as the liquid measurement obviously wont work for a smoked substance so I was wondering if a Jennings JSVG (accurate to .002 mg) could be used with the following method from Skrilla to measure out a 5-9 mg dose of 5-MeO-DMT or for increments of 2C-E:

"Weigh out 6mg or whatever, then add (in a separate little pile) until it reads 8mg - then cut your 2nd little pile in half - and you've got 7mg!"

I don't mind spending upwards of $250 for a scale, but after taxes, calibraton weights and shipping it's going to be pretty expensive.
The Jennings JSVG would suffice if Skrilla's method can be trusted.

Maybe I can use my buddies Gempro-250 for 5-MeO-DMT, and then use the Jennings JSVG for the other chemicals, but i want my own scale for 2C-E doses. Would the Jennings JSVG be good for weighing 2C-E with the above method?

What is the most economic scale that can be used reliably to measure in the 5-10 mg dose rage?

Thanks for the help!

My Weigh Gempro-250 - $167
http://www.saveonscales.com/product_mw_gempro_series.html

This is the cheapest single milligram scale I was considering. 30 year warranty, I'm leaning towards this one. It seems like a good choice, but is it reliably accurate?

VMC VB-302A - $235
http://www.1800scales.com/VMC-VB-302A-Balances.html

I haven't heard much about the VMC VB-302A, but it's on sale from $300 to $235 and is the same price as the Acculab. From what I've heard VMC is up there with Acculab.

Acculab Vic-123 - $235
http://balance.balances.com/scales/906/

From what I read this one seems to be more accurate than the Gempro-250, but I don't want to have it plugged in all the time. Will that be a problem?

Jennings JScale JSVG - $79
http://www.saveonscales.com/product_js_vg_series.html

This one only goes up in 2 milligram increments but is much cheaper.

I could shell out 200-300 after shipping, but 100 would be more ideal. Does anyone know of a good scale in between these 2 extremes? Maybe the Gempro-250 would be a good choice as it is in between the prices. But I'm wondering, if I'm going to spend just under $200 with shipping for the Gempro is it that much more worth it to pay just under $300 with shipping for either the Acculab or the VMC?

If so, I'm wondering if the VMC would be more ideal considering I don't wanna have the Acculab plugged in all the time?

Thanks a lot everyone

I've read the old and new scale threads and it seems like posters in the old thread didn't think much of American Weigh Scales. If you are willing to calibrate your scale every time you use it, it should work, but 5-MeO-DMT and 2C-E are both very dose sensitive so you'll have to be patient with dosing. I ordered a My Weigh GemPro-250 for just over $200 canadian, just waiting for it now (holidays was a bad time to order). My buddy has a GemPro-250 and it works really well from my experience.

My GemPro-250 hasn't arrived yet so I used my buddy's again yesterday to weigh out a couple 10 mg sample doses of 4-HO-MiPT that my gal and I tested out. I weighed each dose 3 times and it read 10 mg each time. You wont be disappointed!

Any experience with VB-302A Laboratory Balance Lab Scales 60 x 0.001g

http://www.1800scales.com/VMC-VB-302A-Balances.html

I'm considering buying this, or the GemPro-250

..any thoughts?

You may have seen the one and only post referencing the VB-302A but to reiterate, they said they were very pleased with it.

I was in the exact same boat as you, considering the VB-302A or GemPro-250 but I ended up opting for the GemPro-250 as it's cheaper, I had great success toying around with my buddy's model, and there is virtually no info on the VB on bluelight. I think either would be a great choice, maybe the VB will last a bit longer? Someone mentioned their GemPro-250 lasted for about 3 years but started getting a little wonky, but there haven't been any posts about the long term reliability of the VB, so I'm just gonna take pristine care of my GemPro and hope for the best. MyWeigh offers a 30-year warranty for all models too, which is a huge bonus.

If only it will clear customs! It shoulda been here on friday or today so I'm assuming it's in postal limbo at the moment and I've got so many new goodies to dip into!

how is this scale,
i am looking for some first hand experience,
using the wall plug, not batteries,
i need it to measure 10mg.
(2c_p)
any tips on how to use it (start up time, air flow, electric device interference ect.)
