really, you can compare indianapolis "nap town" to these places without laughing, diversity my friend, indianapolis is a politically and morally religious sesspool, too many red-necks and too many churches....

well, considering that indianapolis hosts world class talent right within its own boreders, without having to bring in any (although we do), and hosts one of the best damn FREE techno weeklies in the midwest, I'd say it really could be worse. (and this is coming from someone who thinks this city is ass backwards...)

review for elevate...

Okay, I just got back from this party and ive got to say i was impressed. The venue was okay, the talent was good, the sound was okay, but heres my problem. I saw security do some fucked up shit. Some kid was either sellin rolls or askin for em when he aked one of the security. The security took the kid straight to the cops who were there and fucking tried to bust him. Now I understand that you need to stay away from security with your drugs, but gimme a break. The culture of the scene is strongly influenced by pills and you cant say that it isnt. Its just not cool to bust people like that who came out to your event to have a good time.

You know maybe you should get your shit straight before you open your mouth. The person that was taken into the other room was selling "bunk" pills, and no one was sure what was in them. We didn't want kids dying on the floor, if you do at shit you have then cool. As for me(and im sure the rest of the people working the party) the people that were busted were busted for causing potential harm to others and i know I would rather see someone get busted for fake shit than peel someone off the floor with a team of medical personnel there. We are trying to keep the scene safe, not bust people for things we know that are going to take place no matter how hard we try to stop them.

This is Explorer.......not Dj makemedance, but.........

Weather he was selling real, fake, or what, he shoulda been kicked out or took to the authorities. I know pills and shit are a major player in the scene, but come on. When are people going to learn that the town isn't against us having fun, listening to music and dancing all night.....its exactly this type of shit that they are trying to prevent!!

People do need to get their shit together........geeees.

But anywhos...........more REAL reviews on the party?? I take it that it actually didn't get busted??? If so, congrats on something Indy hasn't seen in quite a while.

Ryan.

IT ROCKED

- there ... that's my review. Thank you and good night (or morning technically since it's like 9:20am)

Peace

COLOR=blue]:( :( :( THIS SUCKS... I can't belive i missed that party... i was so close to making it... my ride backed out at the last min. :( I had even gotten up the money to go... Bah LOL ok no more reading how fresh this party was for me..[/COLOR]

although i do not support drug usage or dealing (i also cant condone it) ...i think i would much rather see people "policing" their own scene versus handing alleged drug dealers to the "authorities".... don't become a snitch culture... in order to overcome certain oppression of the scene and culture you must come out from the shadow of such said "authorities"... and not use them as a crutch...until the party scene..or any scene, people, society etc. starts to show that they can be autonomist ... the "authorities" wont stop.... never communicate with the enemy...never take any special deal...nothing...! this is a little deeper than parties...but it can see a connection inside any scene, person, or society

wow.

I'm utterly speechless.

I can't believe that after 2 years of the city strokin'
their hard ons against our "culture" and its drug
useage that anyone FIRST OFF would go to security
to sell them rolls (or ask for them)... and SECONDLY,
I'm AMAZED that someone would POST anything
dissing security for doing what they did... it makes
me wonder if people even WANT parties here...

LEARN FROM THE PAST, people...

posts like this scare me that we are destined to
repeat them...

Gary and crew -- in light of the RAVE act which is LAW(!!!!) --
risked jail time to provide you guys something to do...

at this point, drug dealing -- and then trying to
call out security -- is downright fuckin' DISRESPECTFUL.

The promoters for this event could have
suffered $10,000 in fines... and up to 7 years
in prison under the RAVE act... and you would
have the audacity to fuckin' try and say "security
did fucked up shit"...

that kid did some fucked up shit.

gawd... everyone knows what security looks
like... i don't see why anyoen would even TALK
about drugs to someone wearing a laminate.

when you play the game, it takes a little bit of
common sense to stay in the game longer....

Wow. What a night. I was only able to stay until 12:30, but for the whole time I was there, it was great. I heard Kojent spin some hard-trance kind of stuff @ the beginning, and I was sort of digging that. Then Seth + Mack came on in the main room and TORE THE ROOF OFF!!! Wow! That had to be one of the best sets I've ever heard. Then LMNTS made me almost have a seizure. haha....150 bpm. He played some really good stuff though. Then Translucent came on and I was sure what to think. He was pretty good, nothing like I have ever heard before. Too bad they made the main room the smoking room, my eyes hurt so bad at the end of the night. O well. The lasers were amazing, and I wish I could've stayed for Sage, but I think my time there was well worth my $20.

All I have to say is AWESOME party Gary and everyone else! It's probably one of the best ones I've seen around here in quite a long time. I really appreciate the level of safety that you were able to provide for everyone without causing a lot of mishaps. It's a shame that some people were selling bunk pills, but I like the way you guys handled things. The holding room was a really good idea instead of having the whole place be closed down. I also liked the way that the security cooperated with everyone else. They didn't bother you unless you were doing something stupid that you shouldn't be doing.

It was a truly great, fun, and safe time and I really appreciate it. Thank you everyone who helped out with this!

Well said Physix in response to the post above.

What a ridiculous notion to diss on security for doing their job. what the heck?!

The scene NEEDS to be clean for it to survive...otherwise it will get stomped on as previous....which created the year+ gap between this event and the last succesful full-scale event in Indy..

as for the party....

WOW!!! THERE IS HOPE :)

I can't believe it. An event has went through without a hitch...in INDY!!!???

Beautiful.

I had an amazing time at the event. Great vibe, great music, great sound, great lights, great venue, great crowd. Great all around event. Of course my only complaint being the confusion on when Mack & I were supposed to play...but all good...atleast we got to play a little while...and got a good response during that time. Had a great time playing.

Lets make note of HOW this event worked...and WHY it worked...and continue to press this way on our future events here in town. Keep up the support kids....MUCH LOVE! :)

HOT DAMN!

That was a fun party ;) The turnout was great, the music was dope, and the venue kicked ass. I havent had that much fun at a party in YEARS!!!! And it was right down the street from my house. Many more things to come from gary and ddp, i cant wait. Everything went on as planned, all djs played, and the kids showed up. Thats what you need for a party. Im glad all the kids came out of the woodwork for this to make this such a good time because thats whats needed for more of these to happen. As far as coldspinning and dumbass goes, you guys need to look at what you said. The drugs are what ruins the party, and if you dont beleive that, then you shouldnt be in scene in the first place. Dont arrest kids for selling drugs whether they were real or fake? What the fuck is that about? Gary and the crew did all they could to make this a good night for EVERYONE, and if that involves getting rid of a shady drug dealer than so be it. If you have a problem with them turning over kids to police for ILLEGAL stuff, then maybe you shouldnt come to any of his parties anymore. We dont need ignorant people like yourself fucking things up for the kids that care.

Gary,Ryan, DDP crew = you guys are da bomb, the past few days have been awesome, and i cant wait till the next
arron, kyle, mandi bl kids = glad i saw all you come :) especially glad since arron came since NOBODY else in ohio thought it was good enuff, but whos the joke on now ;)
kent = happy birthday man, that cake was good. we will have to do that for me next time if im not in vegas building up debt ;)

JIGGA! NAPTOWN WHUT?!?!?!

woooo

Okay, there was no disrespect to security in my post earlier. The reason I think it was fucked up what security did was because the only thing they did was make the scene look worse by just adding another incident to the party. If the kid was selling fake rolls, how the hell is anybody gonna die on the dance floor.Theyre fake! What, were you eating these alleged fake pills. Either way, If the kid was sellin fake pills, just send his ass out the door NOT TO THE COPS. THE SCENE IS SUPPOSED TO BE UNDERGROUND. If you think that im full of shit, then you guys need a lesson in what the scene represents. You all know that rolls play a large part in the scene and last night I seen about 80 percent of the kids there with those huge ass bug eyes. Im talking about 16, 17 year old kids. The party was dope, but when security went to the police, I didnt feel like it was a party, it felt like a fucking club.
