As mentioned elsewhere, Sassafrass oil is often used to make MDMA. It contains about 80% Saffrole, which is converted to MDMA through a couple of reactions. You can have some unconverted Sassafrass Oil in the final product, which gives you the smell and taste. It's quite distinctive.
Saffrole, and Sassafrass oil, may well give you a purple to black colour when tested with Marquis reagent. Haven't tried it, but suspect it to be the case. They are very similar to MDMA, especially the methylenedioxy rings which is where the main colour reactions occur with Marquis reagent.
You should try and test the pill with E2. I doubt it would be fooled by Sassafrass oil or Saffrole. Contact us for a sample tester.
