San Pedro questions

It's close, but missing out on a few bits. Try this:
* Use an 8-12 inch section of the cactus - cut the plant in three. The bottom and top can be regrown.
* Despine by scraping with a knife. Be careful not to cut into the plant.
* Cut the cactus into strips lengthways by chopping down through the plant using the shortest diameters as a guide (the cross-section of the cactus is star shaped).
* Carefully peal the translucent skin from the dark green flesh underneath. Do not remove any of the green flesh - just peel away the thin skin. The darkest green flesh is the most potent.
* Cut away the fibrous core pieces of the strips (the white fibery part - 1/4 the approx width. - what was the core of the plant).
* Dice the strips into chunks.
* Seal the chunks in a freezer bag and freeze overnight.
* Thaw it out. You will see the chunks suspended in a gooey liquid.
* Blend the mix in a food blender.
At this point you can drink it or let it dry in a cool dry area. Spread it out on a tray. Then eat the pieces.

You could break down the pieces I guess, but eating it is part of the ritual. And yes it tastes awful.

Neural_Shock,
the amount you specify (8-12 inches), how many people is that good for? About how much would I need for 3 people? 2 of them weigh under 150lbs and i weigh about 185 lbs.
Many Thanks

It depends on the potency of the plant, but your average headshop-cultivated cactus (with 8-12 inches) should be enough for 1 person. My guess is that a 10 inch cut per person is fine for you guys to check it out.
Apparently the potency varies depending on where you obtain it. You could also grow them. I have seeds myself but I have never tried it. The best option is to buy ready-to-prepare cactii from a headshop in Holland, for example. Go search for San Pedro.

thanks.
my dad has been growing them in the backyard for a few years now, they are San Pedro for sure, he is into cactus, etc. Think I'll get a few feet's worth and put what's left in my backyard to grow.
peas

Make sure you fast for that day, if you can. An empty stomach is best. The cactus may cause a little nausea but it passes, and its easily beaten psychologically.

lol, i forgot about this thread. thanks for the replies

how far will places like home depot go to disguise their san pedro?
and, once ingested, how long will it take for the effects to set in? If I remember correctly it should be a couple of hours. And how much is too much?

Wait wait, your not talking about a nursery in the US are you, there is no way i can go down to the home depot nursery and snag a san pedro hahah, that would be great but it is *very* unlikely...what country are you speakin of?
