Salvia Tips?

Good points... the tripper DEFINITELY needs quiet and stillness. External noise (even music, other than very spacey slow stuff), and especially jostling, touching, moving can PREVENT the salvia breakthrough from occurring. Tripper should sit upright in very comfortable chair AND REMAIN STILL and close eyes... minimization of ALL sensory stimulus will greatly assist the trance formation process in your brain. Any stimulation breaks the process like delicate crystal, IMHO.

i have only smoked one bowl of salvia, but it was in a pipe and i only had a normal lighter.
all i got was a slight edgy feeling that felt scarey and made me think i dont want to go there
wherever there is so have been really wary of trying it again.
but what im wandering is is it similar to ket when you do get there

From what I've read of others' experience and having had my own, I think most breakthroughs are fairly congruent though some say they hallucinate or go to other worlds.

I know the impending feeling of a Salvia breakthrough like nothing else. It's usually accompanied by "Shit...shit...shit...8( it's EXACTLY the same" with an expression of terror before I depart.

Salvia has (as far as I can tell) permanently affected my marijuana "high" (a misnomer, now) to be an extended though less extreme Salvia experience. Instead of the timeline being 5 secs kick-in, 5-10 mins in the infinite void of existence then 2 hours recovery, it's 30 mins kick-in then 2-3 hours "half-way there". My point is that I think I've pin-pointed (thanks to the slower, relaxed marijuana experience) that feeling that slowly consumes you (which starts at my back and works its way around my limbs like a coccoon) is extreme vascular awareness akin to an all-consuming palpitation that I sink into... :\

Ring any bells for anyone?

k.kat; Yes, for me at least, the feeling gets stronger until there's nothing - you lose yourself in it. Prepare for the catch phrase when you return: "Is this...real? Is this everything?" - welcome back to this plane.

Speaking of K, I've half a G sitting in a bag and toying with the idea of breaking through. I would class Salvia not as horribly unpleasant just an uncomfortable awakening of what consciousness is (this will hurt you). K break-throughs, as far as I've read, can go either way but at the same time are altogether different. The closest thing I'd put Salvia (as it affects me) to is not sensory but conceptual deprivation with the catalyst being the knowledge that everything is fake or just a basic form of something more complicated.
