Salvia has always been a mixed bag for me. It is unlike anything else out there, IMO, and just as powerful as anything you can put up against it. But the effects have never been truly "enjoyable" for me. I remember coming out of a trip somewhat suicidal, because I had taken the hit staring at a brick wall, and for at least ten seconds I knew what it was like to live as a brick wall.
Not a pleasant mindset.
However, after trying to salvage what LSA I could out of a large handful of improperly labeled HBWR (They were marketed as Hawaiian, but I believe them to have been of another strain, as they were much much smaller and had no fuzzy coating. 12 seeds would produce some light toxic effects, racing thoughts, vasoconstriction, etc, but no psychedelia.) I decided although I had managed to extract the good from the seeds while leaving behind most of the nasties (I was quite sedated, but most definitely feeling something) I decided to give the night a kick with a hit of salvia, 5x.
I remember inhaling, holding it in until the burning sensation took over, and the exhale slowly dropped me to the floor. Like falling asleep, my world faded around me, sudden loss of consciousness...but not completely, not this time. I had consumed a rather weak mixture of peppermint tea and LSA alkaloids earlier, and was mildly in it's grip when I attempted this. Whether it was this or just my memory of previous salvia trips, and becoming more acquainted with the substance, or the psychedelic that allowed me to hold on to that infinitesimal speck, I can't be sure.
It was as if one sentient thought, "I am" somehow clung to existence. My human body and mind were no more, I was merely a blip of consciousness amongst an endless black void. Random thoughts from my past, memories, would occasionally flash by. I did not see these visually, rather that flash WAS my existence.
This seemed to last maybe five to ten minutes (Probably 1-2mins in real world time) until one of the flashes was of my leg lying on the ground. I recognized it, and tried to grasp on. But turns out that's all that was there. My leg, against a wall. No body, no arms, no head, just a leg. So I fell back into the void and the process continued 3-4 times.
At one point I had half a cross section of my leg and my face protruding from a brick wall, intersecting with another brick wall. I remember rooms that reminded me of ancient natives' architecture, only the walls were completely rounded, with the color and texture of hardened yogurt. My protruding cross-sections of leg and face would slide around in linear patterns on the walls. Before I knew it, I was back in my body properly, but I could still feel that mental rollercoaster into oblivion... as if I could easily just will myself back there at any time. And with this hit of Salvia... one of my weakest LSA trips became one of my strongest LSA trips.
Where I had previously been mildly altered, as far as thought patterns/OEV's from the LSA go, I was now much farther up, I'd say by a factor of 3-4x at least, long after the salvia had worn off.
Explanation, anyone?
