Salvia - First Time - My experience with Salvia 12/26/05

For some reason, I just felt the need to share my salvia experience from nearly 12 years ago...so I googled forums and here I am on Bluelight.
I was 21 at the time of this.I am now 33.
In 2005, on Christmas vacation, with family and close friends, we met up at a cabin in Big Bear, CA. My sister was there, and her friend brought salvia and I had never tried it, and because I smoked weed before I didn't think anything of this salvia, that she purchased legally from a smoke shop. So, like really, I didn't think it was a big deal. Oh how I was wrong.

After taking two hits, I was sitting on a bed... almost immediately I began to feel a force pushing me back..like trying to hold me down, and that was the last I remembered being in that cabin until I came back to my senses 5 minutes later...
So once I felt this force pushing me down, I soon was in another place. I was alone. I was scared. I was not in the cabin with my sister and friends. It was a scary , lonesome feeling... then in a distance there was a tunnel cloud...similar to a tornadoe, and it was moving fast... it was dissolving everything it touched like everything went to dust as it moved.. and it was coming towards me. I saw what it was disintegrating and I knew I was next. I'm not sure I was running, but I was trying to get away from it...I thought I was going to die. I just knew I had to get away from it...
Then, I recall visions of people..like flashbacks of people and I'm not sure who they were or if I remember them, but flashes of people and they looked like a negative strip you get from a photo lab once your pictures are developed. Silhouettes, black and white, no real specific details.
I soon woke up, or i thought I woke up, but really I just came back to reality. I was scared and holding on, hugging my friends brother. Not realizing wtf just happened.

They all asked me if I was okay, and I let go of my friends brother who I really don't know that well.. like I was just hugging him at random because I was so scared not because I normally give him hugs.. and came to realization that I was back!! I was so happy to be back, and grateful. But, I was upset. I asked her "Lindsay! What the F*** was that?! Oh my God! " They all seemed so worried and told me how crazy I was acting.
They said I stared at the TV and spoke a strange language, not just gibberish but they said it was a language I knew fluently...and that I tried escaping and trying to open up the window to get out. They had to hold me back.
It all makes sense, because I did feel scared by the funnel cloud tornado thing that was coming after me. I can't explain the language I spoke, I don't recall that.

All I can say, is that I have tried it once and will never try it again.
I call this stuff, "Devil Smoke"

This was my experience. Not everyone's is the same, from what I understand. Just Be Careful...

I'm not sure if it's even around anymore or legal....i couldn't believe my friend purchased this from a smoke shop legally after what I went through after taking 2 puffs of this crazy stuff.

Can Anyone else relate to this?

Yip, I can relate. The thought of the experience really sticks around with salvia doesn't it?

It's pretty common to feel that something is coming towards you and to know that it is going to consume you with salvia. Check trip reports and you will see it is one of many recurring themes.

I had a couple of experiences with salvia. Bought it from the local smoke shop when I was 19 years old or so. One time I laced my pal's hookah with it (he was upset and yes, I'm an asshole). That was kinda funny though, 4 of us were on the couch and one guy says to the other 'something weird is going on'. I came clean, we all laughed except the owner of the hookah.

I smoked some straight before as well, and got me pretty messed out and out of it for real short period of time. I remember looking at the beams of light shining through the blinds into the smoke filled room.

And then there was a guy I know who smoked some and lost it- I don't know how people can get THAT messed up on it.. I think he was drug-naive. But he ended up making a scene and people called the cops on him!

Anyways in my adulthood I wouldn't buy this stuff.. go and have a couple Manhattans at a whiskey bar for the same price and it'll be a lot more classy.
