Salvia extract - salvia noob - good experience as a tea drink

Wow.

First, just to note, after the test of just drinking the tea, that night I did it sublingually and that was a pretty strong experience. That night I also laid back and closed my eyes and just processed it.

But last night was different.

I had only a small fraction of the gram of 35X left, so I used it all, about 2/3 a teaspoon. I ended up boiling it for 15 min.s and then it steeped for maybe 20 min.s. It came out a dark green.

Note I usually tried to boil for only 10 min.s b/c I wasn't sure if doing it too long would ruin it. So far that doesn't seem the case.

I used it sublingually, almost all of it. The effect was so strong I had to stop. Very psychedelic, no hallucinations, but really affected my thinking. I felt slightly nauseous (for lack of a better term), and that same salvia feeling of being pulled down was very pronounced. I tried watching a movie, "Vicky Christina Barcelona", and it often felt like the actors were in the room with me, and I was getting a lot more of the story & characters than I had before. But I only made it about half way through. The pulling sensation was making me want to lay down and close my eyes.

One interesting thing about salvia, for me, is that the psychedelic + weighed down effects makes it feel like as reality is disassembling you could get pulled down through couch and the floor to who knows where.

I wanted to hold off as long as possible, but just gradually turned off all the lights and almost "fell into" the bedroom (like the apartment was one of those Labyrinth games) . I tried watching a little TV in there, but it just seemed like it was a painting that moved, and didn't mean anything, just a brighter piece of furniture. So I finally succumbed, turned everything off, laid back and closed my eyes. The main experience lasted about 2.5 hours (9:30 to midnight), and I was able to then get up and mentally "shake it off". After a little while I went to sleep and woke up around 5 AM.

But today I still feel weighed down and slightly trippy and headachey, so it hasn't completely worn off. Of course, during it, I was thinking "yeah, this is the last time I'll do this" but naturally once you come out the other side you know what's involved, so I will probably do this again.

Again, for me this is a much more interesting and useful experience than smoking seems to be (and again, maybe doesn't use salvia as "efficiently"), but it does require being prepared to deal with it for hours instead of just 5 min.s. Also, this shows that escalation is easy to manage.

Also I want to note that, in some ways, this is physically demanding. I find the experience better if I have eaten well that day: breakfast, lunch, dinner. I have the impression that going hungry or having low blood sugar makes the experience much harder to handle.

Addendum:
I felt like a tourist in the museum of my own life ;)

I got some 50X and tried it as a tea again.

I used about 1/3 teaspoon salvia in 1 cup of water in a saucepan. Boiled it for 15 min.s and then let it steep another 15 min.s. It reduced to about 1/4 cup, I tilted the sauce pan, let the leaves settle to the bottom, then poured the dark green water into a cup.

It was very late at night, so I just put on a movie ("Frequencies"), and did sips of the tea. Each sip I held sub-lingually for about 90 sec.s then spit out into another container. It was about 10 sips total, and before I was finished I started feeling a pretty strong psychedelic effect.

Again, no hallucinations, but a sort of tingling/numbness all over. The effect was pretty strong for about an hour, then a milder version for a second hour. After that it was pretty much worn off. This time there was no strong weighed-down feeling, which might be because I didn't actually swallow the tea, and I felt fine the next morning.
