Perhaps this is the wrong forum for this question, I trust the mods will move it if so, and I must be honest I haven't thoroughly used the search, but I'm after a clear answer...

I've smoked salvia extract before, I was rather uneducated and didn't expect it to be a powerful psych (I can't remember the strength of the extract).

I intend to get some more soon, sit in a darkened, silent room and have an interesting trip. My mistake last time was trying to watch TV and listen to tunes. Really didn't treat this with the respect it deserves.

I am interested in the chewing method, because I would like a longer trip, but is this really acheivable or advisable with the concentrated stuff (i can imagine it being awkward and unpleasent with all the little bits)?

The other alternative is to smoke it in a bong. When I've had it before it was in a pipe. Can anyone tell me of the benefits, if any, of a bong over a pipe?

I've re-hydrated plain leaf to quid before to good effect. It was a less intense experience, and I would almost call it a nice experience, especially compared to the intensity of smoking salvia extracts. I've read some conflicting info regarding quidding the extracts. It seems like the answer is yes it works but it takes more material than is worth it. Fresh material and/or re-hydrated plain leaf seems to be people's material of choice for quidding. Maybe you could soak the extract in some everclear and make a tincture that you could work with orally instead...but if you do decide to try to quid the extract, you might try putting some of the extract into a tea bag to keep all the more finely ground bits in tact as you quid.

type "quidding 10x" into google...there's some info for you to start reading about it...

Thanks very much for the information.

I might take into consideration both sets of advice... make a tincture or a teabag quid (good idea) then maybe after spitting it out smoke a tiny bit just to move things along. If quiding is going to use alot then I will possibly forget the idea. I'll hit google now.

^^^ haha the first entry that comes up is this thread! I'll take the time to research this though.

I suppose their is only one way of testing this, and that's to do it. Since everybody's sensativety to salvia seems to vary alot anyway, I can't know if this will be effective until I try. I don't think I'm particularly sensative to it, but I'm not a hardhead. We'll see.

I heard of someone putting extract in gum and chewing on that for a period of time.
