The story begins with some friends going up to the lake and camping for a few days, bringing along several substances for the trip. We had two bags of weed, 1 vial of 21x salvia, several bottles of various types of booze, and a couple hits of acid.

The first day was spent setting up camp, kayaking around on the lake and just fucking around smoking weed. When the sun went down the alcohol came out and we all drank a bit, the beer arrived and a few people did a couple beer bongs. Eventually we all go to sleep.

We wake up and i eat a hit of acid, the other one went to another person. Pretty decent trip for 1 hit of acid, kayaking was a joy and simply beautiful. The day goes on and the sun goes down and the alcohol comes out. I was high, but not very drunk. We have a pretty large camp fire going and i pack a small bowl of salvia into the bong, I did not make it very clear that i was about to take a hit of salvia which would have probably made this trip have a better ending than it did.

We had no torch lighter and i could not find a bic for the life of me so i borrow a zippo not really knowing if it would burn hot enough or not. I took the hit, handed the guy back his lighter, sat the bong down and held it in.

I get the feeling of being ripped out of reality as is typical of breaking through on salvia, patterns go crazy and soon i am standing in this strange place. There are clouds floating by in this dark place but i see a very clearly lighted path. I decide to walk down this path and try to step off only to be directed by some unseen being back onto the path. i try and fight them, and for a brief moment i gain a visual connection with reality, but my mind is far from normal. Confusion sets in and this all seems like some strange set for a television show. At some point the realization that "i must have died" sets in. At this point reality is starting to fall into itself like a collapsible set and im suddenly in another room and this is clearly a talk show setup by the looks of it. What was said to me is foggy but it seemed like final judgment given that i was dead. After the talk a staircase appeared to the right and i was ushered up it.

At around the 2nd step i was knocked off by something i could not see. This is where reality starts to finally come back to me. As i start to see again my first sight is the worried faces of my friends, and a tent being rolled up. They tell me to stay away from the fire, and i ask what happened. They told me after taking a hit off the bong i got up and quietly walked over to the fire and stepped into it. At this point im not feeling any pain, and i look at my foot to see it covered in ash with a few small 2nd degree burns. After stepping into the fire someone had tackled me out of it and i had landed on a tent breaking a carbon fiber poll on the way down. I wash the ash off my foot to better see the damage and for stepping into a large camp fire with bare feet i would have expected the damage to be worse. I told the story before i ended up going to sleep, no one else did salvia that trip.

The next day we packed up and left, and i limped into a pharmacy near where i live to buy some first aid supplies. I haven't showered in 3 days, swam in a lake that smelled faintly of diesel, smoked more than a few packs of cigarettes, tripped on acid, stepped into a fire on salvia, and drank a fair amount. I look like hell, and i walk up with the iodine, band aids, gauze, and tape and the woman ask "awe who got the boo boo?" I point at myself and she ask what happened. I told her i stepped into a fire bare foot last night, and she didn't look surprised....

Moral of this trip is, never do salvia near anything that you could seriously hurt yourself with. Camp fire, bodies of water, elevated porch.... The trip would have been ok if the fire had not been there....
