Bluelighter
I got my hands on some salvia (leaf) last month and tried it for the first time with a couple of friends. We had been getting really interested in it after hearing positive things about it, reading trip reports, erowid, etc. and finally found a herb shop that sold it.
After smoking it i wasnt really too blown away by the effects, i enjoyed most of all the magnetic feelings in my limbs, like they would be strangley pulled towards other objects. since it was leaf, we had to rip 2-3 consecutive cones through the bong and my friend ended up having a massive coughing fit (he had a cold) which dominated his experience. We all had a bit of a giggle, smoked a couple more cones and left it at that. didnt feel like it was the really intense feeling that people say it was.
just yesterday i was reading trip reports and it was Mescalito’s salvia report that really got me wanting to try salvia again. This time i was sure to buy the extract (x5). The x5 extract had sold out, so i opted for the x6 american one that apparently wasnt as good.
0:30s: After i had the first cone i felt the same feeling in my limbs as experienced the first time. I felt that sensation dissapate, and, getting worried that the experience was coming to an end, reached for the bong to have another cone. I tried pulling the conepiece out, but then realised, no, i still dont have barely enough co-ordination to do it. I remember as soon as i blew all the smoke out i could hear my heartbeat, and it sounded really loud, like it was the only thing I could hear
2:00min: I could feel the voice in my mind talking significantly louder, the thoughts floating around in my mind (i had just finished an exam earlier in the day) seemed to carry more significance. I had a really weird sound 'on loop' going through my head, it sounded like a distorted version of a melody from the music i was listening to prior to smoking. I was just sitting there, staring at the ground for some time, then got up to have another cone
5:00min(?): The strange sound in my head starts dominating certain aspects of my thinking, like it is assuming the 'theme' of the trip. My sense of depth feels quite weird, like objects seem to 'not be at a certain distance' while still being at the normal distance they are away from me. My dimly lit room (there was a bit of sunligbt coming through the blinds) resulted in some objects having shadows around them. I started to use those weak shadows to form a silhoutted image of a creature(cant remember) holding a flower/umbrella. All in the meantime this weird melody seemed to be giving directions as to how the image was to be formed.
I was sitting on my bed looking sorta downward for most of the time, then tried getting relaxed by lying back, but moving felt a bit uncomfortable so i kept my head focused in the same spot.
Ah shit there were so many sensations i experienced during the most intense moments that i wanted to describe but ive forgotten (i knew this would happen as soon as i got to the keyboard). These werid feelings kept weaving in and out of each other, and whenever i tried to put my finger on it it, it would change
I had my eyes closed for most of the time as the trip neared its end, and started breathing nice and deep and getting really relaxed (aaahh felt so good after a tough exam this morning). I walked out of my room and realised i had been in there for about 30mins...seemed like 5-10
The feeling of there being a clear loud voice (as mentioned in mescalito’s salvia report) wasnt there at all, but at that point i could see how it could be possible with a larger dose- like how i felt the auditory part of my thinking getting louder, and a couple of thoughts joining together to form larger ones
all in all a very positive experience, i think the next few times i do it i'll be happy with having 2 cones (the guy at the shop said 1 was a decent dose though). I guess i spent plenty of my time in the trip figuring out what was going on, trying to remember the sensations...(should have had a dictaphone handy). Next time i spose i'll let sally-D take centre stage and see how she performs
