salty tasting pill ?

hey guys, apologies if im in the wrong section of the site but back in september of 2010 i had an extremely salty tasting pill (brown dollars out of Sydney, AU) (they tasted almost like vegemite)

it was a great roll in my opinion (very very chargy), but i have no idea what were in them.. so if anyone would care to shed some light on what was in them or what made them taste salty i would be ever so greatful.
