She said she wanted time. So, I sailed on and she went off, we stayed in touch, made plans and then she stopped texting so much. When I told her I was coming to her, she seemed different. Finally I asked if she was involved and after a time of waiting I got word she had met a girl.

Broken, told her if I waited would she come back to me since she hadn't told me if it was serious or not. I am still waiting.

We had fun sailing. Anyone else being a dumb ass like me?

I have no idea what you are talking about. Everything you've done was by the book and the outcome was normal and very predictable. You need many experiences in life, you need to eat 1,000s of different foods, drink 1,000s of wines etc. if you always eat Ramen noodles with coke and butter, life will be a living Hell.

Wait, did you actually go sailing or are you using that term figuratively?

Hahahaha so true.

By the book? Curious. Yeah, guess I didn't give allot of info. all good in wonderland.
Yes, an actual boat. WE met in a marina. She was my rebound and I her's. Thought we had fun. Didn't need the tag along afterwards though. Asked if she met someone and when she finally fessed up and said she had, that she needed someone and I wasn't around but that she missed me.
So I took that as a sign and pursued. Continued sending messages long afterwards too. Lame.
A part of me felt bad for sending stuff her way knowing she'd someone else and I was being sneaky, risking a fallout on their end.
Back on the boat now. Waves are my friend.
anyway, allgood. just wonder if anyone else has had a sailing romance that once back on land seemed to evaporate and if so, why.

If she had enough and you didn't it doesn't mean you never had fun, it means you had fun and now it's over

When I was a girls rebound I didn't try to contact her after the first time she didn't reply to one of my texts. This was after 3 months of being together, but I knew that we were just having careless fun with each other, and that when she found someone else or just got sick of me I would let her go with no questions asked. It's not always easy, but you have to respect the girls wishes.

Does it hurt to hear me say
That I never really meant to stay
I left you right where I want you
Now there's nothin' left
And not a reason
There's nothin' left to believe in
When just one remains
I've sailed away....

Sail Away

OP it sounds like a holiday romance and they often have no substance to them

Holiday romance / no substance ... I disagree !

True this. I think she's very happy last I heard through the grapevine. Carrying on and having a good time. I too have met someone, on land at that. Think I'll keep the sea legs for special occasions. Nothing like a get away here and there.

thanks man
