I dont use CWE anytime myself, as i am not a regular user of codeine almost at all. But i came across this conclusion when researching bout supplements and things that are good for health of smokers and drug users.

When you do a Cold Water Extraction on codeine pills that contain also PARACETAMOL (ACETAMINOPHEN), chances are that in your final product there will be some left over paracetamol, we all know of its potential hepatotoxic action in high enough doses.
What most of us dont know is that a supplement, Acetylcysteine, is used for treating APAP overdoses, and it is pretty efficacious.
I dont know exactly if true, but there are chances that if you use CWE everyday you will put your liver under great stress for the continuos even not so high paracetamol blood levels.
Preloading with daily ACETYLCYSTEINE supplements could be a way of helping your liver get rid of the toxic APAP metabolites, so:

ACETYLCYSTEINE COULD POSSIBLY SAVE YOUR LIFE!!!!

so, my fella codeine CWE fiends, there is something that will keep your shit together, USE IT!!!!!

have fun, take care!!!!!!

Come on man don't leave me in suspense..

Or is that it? And you're talking in mysterious Yoda language?

If you do the CWE extraction properly there should be very little APAP in the end result.. not enough to cause any damage, anyway.

But good to know about Acetylcysteine :)

i forgot to say that taking acetylcysteine supplements IS NOT AN ALTERNATIVE TO CWE!!!! that would be really stupid, and equals to asking for troubles!
i dont have specifics but i think that if you use CWE on pretty big amounts of pills will anyway leave a not so big amount of APAP in your final solution, not enough to be acutely toxic, but probably enough to care about if using daily or multiple times in a row!!

Next time you do a CWE, weigh the crushed pills before adding the water.. then when you've finished the CWE.. weigh the waste.. might give you a rough idea of how much APAP made it into the final product (although some of it could be binders and fillers?

Yeah, good tip rickola! i dont use CWE myself as i dont use codeine/nsaid for that matter! Anyway its good to know for anyone who does so!!!!
Here where i live codeine cannot be found over the counter, in ANY form, as far as i know. So for me, codeine is not an option.
All we opiate enthusiast have left here is Heroin, cause even pods are pretty uncommon as opium is. ah, what a fucked up situation!!!!

:D

Interesting OP, thanks for the info

True, but not everyone does it exactly properly. Plus a junkie in a rough spot might CWE a couple hundred percocets or something all at once just to get well, and even if you do it very well there's just so much APAP hard to believe it wouldn't be dangerous levels.

But if you have a tolerance under maybe ~80-150mg oxycodone, yeah, probably not that dangerous of levels
