Opioids Safety of oral restoril with IV heroin

Would 120 mg of restoril be likely to cause an OD with 40 mg of IV heroin? My friend just took this combo and I'm worried about him. What is the percentage likelihood of something bad happening? He has a moderate tolerance

EDIT: The likelihood is very high indeed, the person in question OD'ed and was in a deep coma for several days

It's warned about not to mix exactly those kind of depressents. keep pulse checks and not to sound like a tool but it is really better to be safe than sorry. You know how to get help if he stops breathing I would hope.

Meh I'm tripping, was curious but really 4 30 mg what ever those Were is probably not the end of the world. H tolerance is an amazing thing.

I know the whole benzos + painkills is bad concept, but I need a proper percentage chance, an accurate estimate

Nobody can give you an estimate, but that combination is particularly dangerous...temazepam is one of the more dangerous benzos to mix with opiates...

As long as he's breathing and has color, and a steady pulse...he'll be fine. Just monitor him and make sure! Keep him awake and talking!

If he's just taken this combination and has no tolerance to either drug and it hasn't full hit him yes, it could be very dangerous indeed! There's some cases where you should go to the emergence room preemptively after taking a potential OD amount of drugs....when it comes to a combination of opiates and benzos...If you overdose and stop breathing, there's very little time before brain damage or death sets in! Like I said keep a very close eye on your friend and try to make sure they stay awake!

An energy drink or several cups of coffee and some water wouldn't hurt either.....

I can't really answer that.....If he's awake and asking for cocaine, he's not ODing right now....How long ago was this? that's the really important question....that, and DOES he have a tolerance to opiates and/or benzos....the temazepam is gonna take longer to fully kick in than the heroin...Also, how was the heroin ingested? IV, snorted etc.?

I can't encourage anyone to take cocaine on top of opiates and benzos....It could put more stress on his heart and cause other complications....cocaine and other stimulants can sometimes mask an opiate/"downer" overdose by preventing the person from losing consciousness but cocaine is very short acting and can just add to the danger of the combo he's already taken...If you feel he's in danger, you should seek help...

If he loses color and stops breathing, you can perform CPR....but if he remains conscious, he's NOT ODing...

I guess BlueHues' reply was 17 minutes too late. Bumping an old thread, but he lost consciousness that day at 2:10 PM after the coke half-life was gone, and never woke up. Luckily he was taken to the hospital at 5 PM and was alive but in a deep coma for several days. He's now got permanent brain damage from lack of oxygen to the brain and would easily have died had someone not found him and the paramedics not been called. IV heroin + IV cocaine is especially dangerous for the reasons BlueHues stated, stay the fuck away from it unless you have an ambulance already on the way for you.

Closing this because it's an old thread and your friends situation is already over and done with.

For future reference, nobody can ever give you an "exact estimate or percentage" to tell you how dangerous a certain combo is or "calculate" the chance of OD... It doesn't work like that.. There are certain drug combinations that are dangerous for a reason, and everyones body is different, everyones tolerance is different, etc. There are tons of variables that influence something like that. Nobody can say with any shred of accuracy.. "Humm.. based on what you've told me, there's a 59.6% chance of overdose." If anyone did say that, they'd be pulling it out of their ass.
