Safer way to inject methadone tablets and possibly smoke them

Several years ago when I was really deep in substance abuse I would dissolve methadone tablets directly in water and filter it with cotton and inject it. And A LOT of nasty stuff was still in the fluid and I ruined my veins.

I have thought up a new and much safer way of preparing methadone tablets for injection.

First I crush the tablets to a VERY fine powder, the I place the powder in a small glass container (like a pill bottle or something). Then I add 10 mL denatured ethanol (93%) and let it soak for some time, best if an hour or more and shake often.

The I draw the ethanol into a syrringe through cotton and place the filtered ethanol in a second small glass container and place that in a hot water bath on my stove.
When all the ethanol´has evaporated I add 1,7 - 2mL sterile water, put the lid on the container and shake to make sure that all the "stuff" from the evaporated ethanol gets dissolved in the water. Then draw the water into a new, clean syrringe through cotton and you have a MUCH MUCH more clean injection fluid than if you directly dissolved the tablets in water. There is far less "gunk" in the water.

About smoking methadone: I was evaporating the ethanol way too fast and with too much heat and a lot of ethanol spilled out on the hot plate, after an instant the ethanol had evaporated and a brown drop of tar was left smoking heavily, so I guess you can take the ethanol with the methadone, soak a cigarette in it and let the cigarette dry and then smoke away OR let the ethanol+methadone evaporate on a piece of foil and the chase the dragon. The drop on my stove look like heroin base being chased.

But the ethanol extraction makes for a much safer, much less vein fucking and much less "gunky" injection fliud.

Im gonna say its not safe to do either of those.
a .22 micron filter is your best bet for iv, ive heard methadone is full of nasty shit my man.

Yes, you are right. But the ethanol extraction is at least safer than directly dissolving the tablets en water. You get A LOT of "gunk" in the syrringe that way, almost to the point that the needle gets blocked.

What are those micron filters you speak of? Are they standard lab filter paper?

I don't know about lab filter paper but the .22 stands for 0.22 µm pores.

You are supposed to use lab filter paper as a preliminary filter so the micron wheel filter doesn't clog. A micron filter is a wheel shaped filter that goes onto a syringe, they are enormously better than simple paper filters.

Just get micron filters, IMO you can't do any better then a lab grade micron filter can at removing pill particles and gunk, even with the alcohol idea. I shoot subutex pills and wheel filters are by far the way to go, makes up a 100% clear, clean solution every time, Captain Heroin made a really good Mega thread on here about how to micron filter a drug, here's the link-

Fascinating.... Can you elaborate on how your veins got ruined? How often do you bang them and how long etc?

This is the only thread actually open on the subject. I've heard a lot of people claim its a waste of time and does nothing.

Personal experience is that this is not true. It certainly doesn't have the rush that heroin does. It does however drop the onset to seconds as opposed to 90 minutes orally. There is a noticeable euphoria and if you are in full withdrawal the difference between banging and eating can feel life saving.

I can't plug anything (childhood sexual assault thing) so other than snorting the crap which even after getting to the point that it doesn't burn like hell causes headaches this is the best way to avoid the prolonged agony of withdrawal. I have a prescription that isn't enough to last the month so I'm always sick when I first get them.

I constantly hear not to bang pills, they aren't meant for that. Somehow I don't think its that different from banging tar with God only knows what else its cut with. Outside of knocking over a hospital pharmacy for ampules I don't think it's safe to bang anything. In the states you arent gonna get anything made for injection. At least half the country doesn't even believe in harm reduction/needle exchanges, etc. I've never seen or spoken to a soul that's ever used a micron filter in real life.

I wonder if the intense "heat" felt literally running up the veins is from the methadone or something that is used as a filler by every manufacturer of the pills? Seems like there's something that indicates that the veins are being blistered by IV use. At any rate-I doubt there is a "safer" way to boot dones.

To bad it seems to have vanished but there was a youtube video of an UK drugstore that prepared Methadon sigaret's and Crack Cocaine sigaret's. It seemed legit, but if this is still in practice?

The owner, a chemist, did this as a way of harm reduction.
