The title pretty much says it all. I'm going with some friends to a festival next weekend, and we plan on taking 6-APB (~125mg) and LSD (1 or 2 tabs) on separate days while we're there.
One of my friends is getting tonsil surgery on Wednesday and will be put under for the process. She's worried that the drugs taken at the fest will affect the anesthetic. I don't think it's an issue, but what does BL think?

I suspect it'll be fine. Hopefully someone more educated than us will have an opinion though.

I don't think the anaesthesia will be a problem (though it could be smart to tell the anaesthesiologist what you took so that they are able to make proper judgement calls - I can imagine not wanting to risk getting the surgery postponed or something).
But I do think it's not the brightest idea to take such a drug combo relatively short before surgery. LSD + empathogens is relatively heavy and exhausting, especially in the context of a festival which is already exhausting. Save your strength for fighting off any possible infection and recovering normally. I recommend trimming the combo down to only taking LSD, which during a festival is exhausting enough. Unless your friend is afraid of tripping in such a setting without the happy 6-APB vibes. (That is another debate, really).
Correct me if you think I'm wrong. But that seems like a reasonable and wiser compromise to me.

I am not sure if you already understood this, but LSD will be taken one day and 6-APB the other day.

I agree with Solipsis. 6-APB is considerably more draining than LSD and I wouldn't want to be stuck in a hospital with my neurotransmitters all depleted and stuff....

................. I don't think it's an issue, but what does BL think?

To beg the question - you're own question in fact - no-one can really say. Indeed it's a good question - one I've asked myself on behalf of myself and my partner prior to those surgical interventions that inevitably crop up over one's lifespan. In the absence of known contraindications concerning various weird substances such as anesthetics and street stuff. I always tend to follow Solipsis' suggestion; abstain - there'll always be other chances to have good substances-involving experiences (just make sure you remember where you hid the stuff!); or at the very least let the anesthetist know - they probably won't have a clue but just might, and if they have concerns, well, what's wrong with that? We all do, we usually just wonder cluelessly about the risks. It's their job so you're also risking upsetting them too - they probably feel shit when a patient suddenly dies under an anesthetic. You could probably get an idea of the half-lives of the two substances you mentioned, over on the specialist advanced forum - you could then see if there's any overlap with your medical chemicals (I remember looking up the common anesthetics and they seem to be a cocktail of about 3 different substances, so you could do a search online to see if that's the case).

And I have no knowledge of 6-APB. are there long-lasting MAOI's involved (and would it matter anyway)? Think around classes of substance and try to make some links. Can you see why I choose to give it a miss until afterwards and then have a party? =D=D=D

Anaesthesia+surgery can be pretty exhausting, I would skip the 6-apb at least. LSD is a well known drug, you could always ask your aneasthesiologist about that but if you mention 6-apb I'm 99% sure he/she will just look at you and say "huh?". I can't see any way LSD would interect negatively with any aneasthetic several days after taking it but I have no clue about 6-apb.

It would be rewarding to know how long before though, because I would definitely imagine him saying that bearing in mind that stimulants are sympathomimetic and stimulating the sympathetic nervous system opposes the action on the parasympathetic nervous system anaesthetics have to knock you out. I.e. basically that the stimulating would keep you from getting knocked out. But that would relate to the stimulating effects which should have surely worn off days after having taken the 6-APB. (Though you should not really be taking any chances there should you? :) )
But the slightly more long-term effects on monoamine levels and brain metabolism are something else... I guess that would be more complex and not something simplified into uppers vs. downers effects.

So yeah, that, and the exhaustion etc still makes me recommend giving 6-APB a miss but that needed nuance IMO ;) ^

Thanks for the advice, guys. I agree that if anything, she should skip the 6-APB. But as of now she has decided to abstain from taking either of them.

i remember when i was a teen, and i went to get my wisdom teeth removed.
At that point in my life i was on a daily prescription of adderall. Anyways, to make a Long Story Short.
I was told not to take my medicine the day before going in for Wisdom teeth surgury.
I took it anyways.

The Doctor goes and gives me an I.V. dose of Anesthetic and tells me that most people tell him it's working when they say, the picture of the dolphins on the wall is beginning to splash them.
I look over at the Doctor, right after he gives me the injection. Holy Shit. Thats all i have to say. I was hallucinating wildly. The Doctor stood by my side in anticipation of me passing out.
I look over at him, and i say Doctor! Your Dolphin Picture has come to Life!

He goes Hm, it looks like you must have some kind of Natural Tolerance to ketamine. I asked to be Knocked out for The Wisdom Tooth Surgury and in Canada, ketamine is what is most often prescribed.
The Good Doctor here just filled in my Question. So he busts out the laughing gas and *schvoom*
i was gone under the blanket of darkness.....

Suddenly I Am awake. with the Doctor and the Nurse trying to stop me from... Going outside.... My bare ass is being shown to a Office full of people. My Mouth is Lodged open with what felt like a Speculum.
I regain enough conciousness to stop fighting them, and i walk back into the Office, cover myself up, and go back to the Dentist Chair. Proceeded to get the rest of my surgury done Half awake.
as They aren't alloud to re-dose you.

Wow yikes :D Thanks for that story... and the lesson I guess...

it seems this thread has run its course, closing as per request.
