Safe to take low dose DXM?

If one has Serotonin Syndrome, would taking only 30 mgs of DXM be dangerous? Just curious.

Why would you even chance it. That little Dxm could really only be for medical reasons but you should not risk it and should seek medical attention if you truly do have ss, you can die easily as I'm sure you know

I don't think I have Serotonin Syndrome, it has been months since I mixed SSRIs and I'm fine. Even though I delved into DXM and cannabis frequently after.

Yeah, wanted to take a low dose to help ease my cold symptoms. Coughing myself from sleeping isn't pleasant.

Hey Cuhpcakes I'm not too sure if you know this one, but serotonin syndrome is a bad reaction that doesn't happen randomly or for a sustained amount of time like:

"I've had the cold for the last two weeks" <--- shit but possible
"I've had serotonin syndrome for the last two weeks" <---- not quite right

"Last night I almost died because of serotonin syndrome but I know that was due to a recipe of drugs such as DXM & MDMA mixed together in my system" <-- correct


Not saying this to stress you out, you know my PMs just trying to reassure you what happened then, happened then.


P.S Unless you rolled balls recently or on any other potential bad cocktail you should search up if it will mix well or not (your SSRIs for one), you should be cool but try taking something without DXM if you can?

I don't think 30 mg would be a problem. A ways back I browsed the internet and there have been studies done with those who take SSRIs with therapeutic doses of DXM and there was no serotonin syndrome observed. I think the exception might be an MAOI. If you take one of those you have to be very careful about what else you are taking. I'm assuming you have a cough since 30 mg isn't even close to a first plateau.

I take cymbalta and a year or so ago I took 80 mg DXM and I did notice a little bit of serotonin-syndrome like symptoms.
