Safe to split MS Contin in half?

Hey all, I've got a couple of MS Contin 15 mg's and want to split one before taking a whole one to see how I react to it. I read somewhere not to split, crush, chew etc. Because of "Life threatening side effects" Now I know this is ridiculous at 15 mg, but I want some facts before I split it.

I have a medium-low tolerance to opiates (15-30 mg hydrocodone to feel anything) and I've only had Morphine in hospitals. Last time was 3 months ago.

First things first, whats your tolerance to opiates? We need to know this to evaluate on what you're trying to accomplish. Second thing is if this is your 1st time with Morphine & havent taken opiates before, you should feel 15mgs & you can chew them as well because they have a low BA.
