i guess i had a little benzo tolerance, but not really i would still black out from 4mg of xanax. But i got .125 of halcion and i was wondering if that was a good dose for the first time, i havent taken benzos since November when i took 5mg of valium for 5 days for opiate detox.

would have any recreational value at that low dose? or would it be too much?

0.25mg of triazolam is supposed to be approx. equal to 5mg of diazepam. Of course the big difference is triazolam is a hypnotic benzo and diazepam is mostly an anti-anxiety/muscle relaxant benzo.

So, at least in theory, 0.125mg of triazolam would be like taking 2.5mg diazepam. With no benzo tolerance that would most likely still knock you out, but its on the lower end of the dosage scale, it's a safe dose for sure.

To put it this way, you'll be fine, but will most likely still be put to sleep pretty quick as the benzo will be doing what it was designed to do.

In my opinion Halcion is one of the least recreational benzodiazepines but that is just MY opinion. Others may enjoy it. I'm not saying its ineffective, its a relatively useful sleep-aid. It has a very short half-life and isn't an effective myorelaxant & anxiolytic but then again, its intention is to get you to sleep. It is however a powerful sedative. You need to make sure you fall asleep rather quick or you'll have a harder time getting to sleep because its short duration is sharp.

A good starting dose would be 0.25mg

No, 0.25mg of Triazolam is equivalent to 10mg Diazepam.

This source lists 10mg diazepam as equiv. to 0.5mg triazolam. It depends on which source (comparison table) you use, although comparison is limited either way because of how hypnotic triazolam is.

Parts of it are, that's for sure. Benzos act so differently for different people that I like to think of the conversion charts as starting points anyway.

I'd say that we're both correct, 0.25 - 0.5mg triazolam = (approx.) 10mg diazepam. :)

so would .25 be safe? i got another one. but i dont want to go in a crazy black out like 4mg of xanax, or even 2mg.

:) Yeah, they are effective for beginning benzodiazepines and choosing a correct dose. Problem is that its sort of hard to compare the potency of the hypnotics with the anxiolytics.

Exactly. It's of limited use when comparing diazepam to triazolam or other hypnotics. OP, you'll be fine with 0.125 or 0.25mg, no worries :)

would it be worth it to take the .125 tonight to see how i feel, cause i cant get the other one til tommrow, and you know drug addicts cant wait lol

I'd say that it would be worth it to try the 0.125mg tonight, since your tolerance is more or less nonexistant and triazolam is a pretty potent hypnotic.

Sure, I don't think you'll get much from it, as its only equivalent to 2.5-5mg diazepam. That isn't much. But go ahead. Wouldn't effect me but maybe you. I have always had a tolerance to benzodiazepines so my recommendation may possibly have been higher than others. Its worth a try, right? I know how drug addicts are, I am one, and I have a hard time waiting too

IMO, conversion charts are complete nonsense with benzos. more so with halcion than any other benzo.

but i would wait to take .25 at once. that is a great first time dose. though i bet a lot you will be disappointed. not because halcion doesn't kick ass, but just because.

edit:
hold under your tongue. makes a big difference with halcion. especially at a slightly smaller dose like .25mg. kicks in faster than any other benzo i have done; makes xanax look like a slowpoke.

0.25 mg triazolam = 10 mg diazepam.

A good starting dose for someone who has never done benzo, or has very little experience is 0.25 mg. It is not only an highly potent benzo, but it is very hard hitting.

Halcion never worked for me, possibly because of my tolerance. I was using 8mg of clonazepam when I was prescribed Halcion. I was switched over from 60mg of Temazepam onto 0.25mg. Tried it a couple nights to no avail and then I found out that 60mg Temazepam was equivalent to 0.75mg Halcion so I tried that and it still didn't do much. So basically I felt it at 1.5mg. I guess this made sense because when I abused Temazepam I would normally take about 90-120mg for a nice warm buzz. But I ended up being disappointed with Halcion. I don't believe I went any higher than 1.5mg. I guess I expected too much. I only had a script for 1 month. I could have stayed on it longer but I wanted back on my Temazepam. At least I got the opportunity to try it.

I think that without a tolerance to benzodiazepines 0.25mg would be an accurate dose.
