Safe dose of Methadone

Ok, I know this is a noob type of question but what is a safe dose of methadone?
I've never taken it before but I've taken other opiates.
I don't have a tolerance and I don't want to end up throwing up or anything.
Any starting dose suggestions?

5 mgs is a very very low dose for recreation, how much of the other opiates do you use?

I'm looking to use it recreationally.
It was been at least a week since I have used any opiates. I don't use them very often so I have no tolerance to it.
I just want to be safe and no get sick.
Also, food or no food? What would you suggest that would work well to eat with it?
