I get what you're saying. Though by 'generic US cookie-cutter beauty' type standards, Melissa Joan Hart was pretty quirky-looking. Which isn't saying all that much I guess...

It's obviously Aunt Zelda in retrospect, but at the time she seemed to me to be about 65 years old. Sabrina was uncomplicated in terms of visual appeal, spirited in nature, teenage and a witch. That kinda sealed it really. Plus she'd already been cute when she'd been Clarissa and had Explained It All.

I wish my tastes had moved on significantly from what they were then, but no, 'teenage witch' still ticks all the right boxes.

It was always Aunt Zelda for me. Still have the older woman thing so my tastes haven't changed either. Sabrina is still hot now just not particularly my type, can't believe she's 37 though wtf.

I don't remember the programme itself enough to be able to work on personality or character so am just going by appearance really. I'm sure she was lovely, but she looks kinda bland and uninspiring.
