SA and the DEA

I have been based out of Peru for the past 10 years and living here permanently for the past half dozen, i live in a rural area where my access to the internet is limited to internet cafes and the USB internet i have.I am from a country where we dont have to worry too much about "big brother", however i have recently been wondering how safe my communications via email and skype and even BL considering the country in which i reside is heavy on the radar by the DEA due to drug trafficing and money laundering which occurs here.

My question is basicly this, how safe are USB's? and communication wise how safe do you think i am considering the whole continent of America and especialy drug producing countrys are flooded with DEA....?
