I couldn't find any rules on the issue, only that the legal discussion section was closed. So if this shouldn't be here, please remove it.

Can anyone link me to a source of S.A. drug-related laws? Specifically what defines trafficking, expected penalties for posession etc. Basically wanting to know if a hypothetical person was to take, say, 150mg of Molly or a couple of LSD blotters to another city in the same state, but five hours away, would get screwed hard if they got caught.

I can't find any definitive information anywhere.

i'm not qualified to give legal advice - but if caught, you'd be in strife. that seems fairly straightforward...

i'm sure this topic has come up on this board recently - i can't exactly remember where, but my hunch is somewhere in the MDxx discussion thread, somewhere in the last 3 or so pages.
there is certainly some info that has come up recently on this topic - but i'm afraid i am about to retire for the evening so hopefullly another bluelighter will be able to chip in with a better response.
travelling by car, and being as discreet as possible would work in your favour - but if you feel it is risky, sometimes it is good to be as careful as possible. i'm not sure i can be much more specific. i know that the trafficable quantity of mdma in many states seems absurdly low to a lot of people, but i don't know the specifics in sa or anywhere else for that matter. if you have a look around, i'm sure there was a link provided recently that gives specifics on some of the amounts needed to be charged with 'possession with intent'.
have a hunt around and you may find it, if google can't.

Okay great, will look into it. Looking into a career as a teacher I can't really survive with a criminal record.

A person who traffics in a controlled drug is guilty of an offence. Maximum penalty:
(a) for a basic offence—$50 000 or imprisonment for 10 years, or both;
(b) for an aggravated offence—$75 000 or imprisonment for 15 years, or both.
