Hi, I'm Kitty and opiates are my DOC. I used to use for pleasure (vicodin and percocet) then in 2006 I got a stomache ulcer that ruptured and caused a big old mess. Well , long story short and 5 additional abdominal surgeries in the same spot in the last 6 years and I am RX'd MScontin 45mg a day and MSIR up to 90 mg. a day and Gabapenten 1200mg a day. I get no buzz at all anymore and have been trying to cut the MSconntin (have reduced from 90mg a day to 45 since I started the Gab) But this is a hazardous site cause I'm reading about plugging and other methods for what I haave at my fingertips. So, not sure what I want from this site but heere I am. Thanks for having me. By the way, the meds are for chronic nerve pain from the multiple surgeries.

Thanks, the repeat surgeries were for incisional hernias caused by the lifting required by my job (34 years) so after the last one they retired me out and I am now on disability. Gives me too much time to think about getting high again.
 
I keep house for my husband and 90 tear old MIL so am pretty busy, but I love to read. I think it is more a curiousity thing and a recollection of those early highs that make me keep thinking about it. I also have a question about bioavailabity orally after gastric bypass surgery but don't know where to post the question. Can you point me in the right direction? Thanks for the response Cap :)

I also started using opiates for pleasure about 7 years ago. I was a week-end user and would only really take Percs and Vicodin nothing really bigger then that. As a person who suffers from anxiety, I loved the high feeling, I knew then I was doomed.

In 2008 I got attacked by a patient (I'm a nurse) and severely injured my neck (C5-C7). I have been seeing a Pain Managment Dr since then. I get an RX monthly of 90-30mg Morphine and 60-10/325 Percocets. I need them as I am in a lot of pain and I am a mother to a 7year old and a 14 month old. Unfortunately, though I now depend on the high to get me through my day! I only snort the Morphine now and I don't think I've made it a whole month without running out of pills in over a year!

Being that you are also a Chronic Pain person, Do you ever take more then you're suppose too? I'm on a constant roller coaster of- take pills, feel great!! Run out of pills-withdrawal, etc....

I take my extended release as directed, by usually I take about 4 30mg MSIR a day, all at once. I usually run out of my breakthrough meds before the end of the month, however the extended release seems to keep withdrawals at bay. The only time I got withdrawals was when I had an intestonal blockage and couldn't stop vomiting. It took me three days to realize that it wasn't the flu and by that time my pain was over the top and I was seeing things on the wall lol. That is one reason I would like to investigate other methods of taking my meds as well as trying to get more bang for the buck so to speak. Are your morphine extended release or instant release? Also, how does your nose cope with the snorting? I already have a perforated septum from long ago cocaine use. One more thing as a frequent flyer in and out of hospitals I have a huge respect for the majority of the nursing community, you work hard and for the most part care for us wonderfully when we need it. Thank you.
