Hey all, ever since I took a break and got back on opiates all sorts of weird things have been happening. First of all their not nearly as good as they were before, I feel like my tolerance has gone up, but more importantly, I've been getting headaches when I'm coming down off of roxys and the next morning. Does this happen to anyone, and does anyone know why?

yes its called a rebound headache

I get these bad... especially the next morning after taking high doses or Roxy or Hydrocodone.

The ONLY way to get rid of the headache is to take another roxy.. it will be gone in 10 min

I've gotten them, although VERY rarely. And I'm not confident ruling out any other variables and just blaming it on the opiate.

Aspirin always worked.

I have one right now from them. Common side-effect, take some excedrin to knock it out.

Yeah, I had it from about an hour in to about two hours in, it has since subsided as I drank a good 48 oz of water. I know they can come the next day, but why would they happen as I'm getting high?

Anyone find that with Roxis that if you snort them you feel them better than oral route?

If I take a OC40 I feel that better than if I crush it to death and then finely cut with sharp razors.

It hits you harder persay when snorted versus a gradual come-up when taken orally. Which would give the impression that you are feeling it more. But I prefer oral over snorted, much better high IMO.

However, oxycontin even when crushed, does nothing for me when taken orally, I only snort those. However roxicodone 30mg is much better oral then nasal. I would take a roxi 30mg over a 40mg oxy any day of the week.

After using opiates you could get the headache later as part of the withdrawal, this usually would only happen after using a large amount though and having the headache the morning after.

Alright, this has essentially run its course. Unless anyone else has any specific experience, I want to avoid this turning into a oral vs snorted thread.

Yea u feel it quicker but roxys are for "breakthrough "pain so they're instant relief and hit quick orally also. I use to snort oc's but eat roxys. Roxys were one of my favs

I never explained myself, correctly. I never feel roxis if I eat them, only snorted.

yes I have one right now (probably the third person to say that in this thread). I am trying not to abuse and more morphine atm and since I don't have any over the counter pain meds (advil) I am eating freezies. They seem to be helping a little but not very much. It is also tough because I have a large supply of morphine right now and now dabbling in it, even a little is considerably hard. blahhh

It's the morning after, and I had to miss class because my headache was so bad. And I didnt get any relief till I took a very, very small dose (15mg) of roxy a few minutes ago. Kinda sucks, hoping it will go away.

you can get really bad headaches from any opiate if its the first few times... after that it went away for me

just redose your opiate of choice and it will be gone in minutes

happens to me 3 times a week, thought it was common.

There is also a perscription drug available specifically for taking away rebound headaches. used to get it from my old doctor after I explained it to him and it worked well... cant remember the name of it for the life of me tho
