Hey guys, another question about my Roxy's, appologies but this is the most informative place.

I live in a hot, humid area of the country. I have been increasingly getting roxys of seemingly lesser quality. A lot of them, the pill seems to be almost coming apart in layers, like it was cracking hamburger style. Cracking to the point where I could probably split the pill in two that way, or even more layers possibly. Also I've been noticing areas of some pills seem to have lost their blue dye, and are discolored white, some of the faces are scraped, pieces of the pills have chipped off. Now I understand a roxy is a relatively soft structured pill. But is this amount of wear and tear on a pill an indication it has been through too much and should simply be discarded? A little decrease in potency is fine, but if their just garbage at this point I would like to know. If anyone has similiar experience, please share. Thanks

They should not be discarded, but I would speak to the distributor to report the reduction in quality, and maybe ask if it has been stored differently.

I know when I have my script in my pocket, alot of the pills are rubbing against eachother reulting in wearing off of imprints, and some corners. Putting cotton balls or something in the pill container to keep pills from moving around works for that.

It does not lower quality, but maybe your tolerance is playing a factor. Also, if the person who has them is using a lot of them, they may be chipping little pieces off themselves, but that is unlikely.

I wouldn't throw them away! I know your in Florida, as am I. I am constantly seeing roxi's like this, as I told you in the other thread about this. There shouldn't be any issues with the pill or the potency.

I hear ya. These pills are haggard. I guess the core question I'm hoping to have answered is how volatile is the active ingrediant in these pills? Can they withstand heat/moisture and still be good? Is oxy a stable substance or what?

I had a friend who was blowing a 800 mgs of oxy a day and that fucker would chip the pills he sold to fund his habit.

LMAO for some reason this made me imagine an irate opiophile calling up his drug dealer..."Yo, I'd like to file a complaint with your manager!"

LOL dude it's not cause the pills are "old" or less potent well maybe a little actually cause the main reason the Roxies you get are coming apart or splitting/chipping apart is because they have either been handled a lot or stored in something other then a pill bottle like it's suppose to be kept in, and prolly kept in a hot car or some hot/humid place and that is not good for a Instant Release type medication, none of the above.

i live in florida as well and get pills like this ALL THE TIME. it also seems to be from scripts that are older than others, but always within the same month. it's only because of this disgusting weather we've been having and improper storage. they are no less potent, trust me. if you are that sketched out about it, send em' my way- i will gladly take them off of your hands, free of charge! i eat them all day and get high every time without fail. they are far from garbage.

you should already know the answer to this anyway because i can't imagine you still have the same pills from the last thread you posted sitting around.

Certainly don't throw them away. Perhaps don't get more, as I'm assuming you're buying them not scripts, but why would you ever throw them out, what a shame

Edit: I just realized, if you grind them all up and sniff them won't this solve all the problems? :)

Yeah, I would carry my roxis in my pocket during the course of the day but in a slimmer asprin case. When I would open that up I would often get a puff of blue come out. Even if they look a little discolored or crumbly I highly doubt the potency was compromised. The state of the pill is probably just a mix of how it was contained, how its been transported, and its age.

I have solved my problem. They were fine, seemed not as strong but I'll attribute it to placebo. So what does it take to break down the active ingredient, to make roxys lose potency? I would like to avoid it happening, because I want to be able to count on consistent dosing. Thanks everyone so far for your answers.

Can anyone shed some light on this problem?

water,,it would dissolve the oxycodone, but if it was in a container I'm sure it would be saveable.even if the water evaporated, the oxy would still be in the container.if water got in and the leaked out,it could very well dissolve some of the oxy if not destroying the whole pill.
This seems unlikely to happen though.

Maybe they were kept in direct sunlight,I believe somebody already said maybe they were stored in a hot car. This could degrade potency.but other then logical explinations like that,Oxycodone shouldn't lose potency if stored properly.

I dont know about Roxy particularly.. but I found some Hydrocodone in my medicine cabinet that was 6 months expired, and had been in a moist bathroom so the bottle was full of powder.. no noticable tablets left lol

I was desperate and withdrawing from oxys.. so I ate some of the powder and it worked great.. so I wouldnt worry about dicreased effectiveness I dont think... at least with lortab

this has never happened to me with my roxys

Store them properly and they will be fine for a long time. Heat is the biggest thing you want to avoid, as that will speed up the degradation of many opiates.

The type of salt that a drug manufacturer chooses to create the drug in is usually a salt that works well for the drug in terms of stability and achieving the intended result. They also prepare the pill (as in creating a mixture and pressing) in a way that ensures that the drug dose will be delivered correctly. This gives a certain amount of stability to many pharmaceutical pills.

Awesome responses guys, I really appreciate it.

So what it seems to me is if any part of the pill is still intact, there will still be something in it? I guess its a pretty stable substance, that makes me feel a lot better. I double bag my pills, keep in in a dark spot in my appt which is set at 70 degrees all the time. I always worry about my precious pills just up and combusting on me.

I just got a hold of a bunch of roxies.... i have only done them once and wanted your advice which way taking them orally, snorting or iving has the best bioavailability???
