Roxicodone, Best method 2 IV

A friend asked me the best way to cook and shoot roxicodone 5mg pills. The way I have always done them is add water according to the amount of pills I use and heat a little bit and draw it up. I have heard of people not heating but mixing with just cold water. I have also heard that pills are not good to heat when injecting. Any input on this would be appreciated.

Do NOT heat pills for injection as this just makes fillers/binders dissolve into your solution. Oxycodone is water soluble so all you need to do is add water and stir it up.

Please make sure you micron filter your shots, shooting pills is extremely dangerous and micron filtering minimises the risk of infection/abscess.

Yes, like already mentioned do not heat the pills. They dissolve in water with a little stirring. So please do not heat them up.

I have heated pills for years, do I need to worry about long term effects from this, something tells me I am. Wish I knew that. I started shooting heroin before I ever injected any other drug so I assumed heating the pills made the drug dissolve better. I have heard of the micron filters but need to order them, there are no needle exchanges where Im at and I have no other clue where to get them asides from the internet. I have never had an abcess thank god or a blood infection.

I cant specifically say what complications if any that will come up from your previous years of shooting pills (after heating). All I can say is I'm happy you've found bluelight and we have so much harm reduction posts throughout the site that will help you learn new and useful information. I would say just stop heating pills now and only worry about the present. Yes, you'll never get to go back and do certain things so you can only hope to make better choice now. What city do you live in or a nearby city? Someone may help you with a needle exchange maybe....just search your zip online and I'm sure you'll find something. Micron filters are very good/harm reduction items to use. I hope you can find somewhere nearby that sells them besides online. Maybe even try your local methadone clinics or talk to your doctor they can tell you all sorts of places giving them out (some do require prescriptions for needles ect.)

The danger of heating pills and not micron filtering is a long term one (as well as the risk of abscesses) - the fillers/binders can lodge in the lungs and over time you can develop a lung disease called pneumoconiosis which is progressive and irreversible.. think of it like emphysema from smoking. By the time you get symptoms later down the line the damage has already been done..

Most if not all US syringe access programs do not offer out micron filters b/c they are very expensive.. like 1 filter costs them more than 25 syringes..and they are only good for a single use. Also they mainly cater to heroin/cocaine injectors. Your only choice will be to order offline.. but its a good investment IMO. You'll be blown away at how much shit it catches and how clean loking your shots look in th epin

Please do not inject roxi 5s without a micron filter. The damage/benefit ratio for that is just abysmal. If you are going to inject roxicodone, get the 30mg pills. Not condoning the practice, but six pills worth of fillers is a hell of a lot worse than one. I inject 30s on occasion, and even those have quite a bit of gunk that is left in the cooker. If you're using roxi 5s without a filter, you're just putting WAY more harmful shit in your veins than necessary.

Edit: Realized saying "cooker" may have implied that you should heat these. This is not the case, as has been said above. The active ingredient, oxycodone, is fully water soluble, so all the stuff that doesn't easily dissolve by stirring is not active ingredient, it's inactive filler that you really don't want in your system.

Well, I think the main points have been covered here..

IVing oxycodone is pointless IMO, the oral bioavailability is so high you get very little extra from IV, and most people don't get a rush.

Never heat pills, oxycodone (and other opioids) are soluble in cold water, heating only means you will dissolve other nasty shit too. It dooesn't sterilise anything either, that would involve a lot more heat for a lot longer period of time.

Always use a micron filter (getting them online is easy) if you want to minimise the risk of abscesses and lung disease (pneumoconiosis) from the fillers/binders - see my earlier links.

As ever, be as sterile as possible - clean hands, swab skin, fresh needle every single time, ideally sterile ampoules (even more ideally bacteriostatic) water.
