Roxicodone 30mg Question

I am getting a 30mg Oxycodone IR (Roxicodone) pill and am assuming it will be splittable into two (like this: http://www.pharmer.org/images/domestic/oxycodone-v-4812). If I then cut both of these halves in half, and get 4 4th's, would each 4th contain roughly 7.5mg Oxycodone, or are they distributed unevenly past the half mark? Thanks!
 
Should be approx. 7.5mg per forth, but could be 7mg, could be 8mg, you're not going to be that exact after splitting the pill into to halves.

It should be pretty close if you cut it with a razor, i would probably crush all of it up and then make 4 piles about the same size.
 
Yeah, the drug is pretty well spread throughout the pill, not just by halves. Sometimes the mix can be slightly off though and push a tad more drug to one area, but usually not a noticeable amount.
 
this is debatable..i heard both from my person experiences i feel like sometime i split pills with people mostly 80s.... and ended up with a smaller half but it fucked me up more then ahalf shoulda..then on the other hand i have split pills got the big ass half and it seemed to not even be a half worth
 
Unless the medication comes in capsule form it's very hard to get an accurate dose, you can get close with one pill, but the next one might be completely different. If it was in a capsule with either powder or microballs (my term for tiny beads) then you can be sure you are getting close to an accurate dose when splitting the pill into separate parts.
 
ive personally split it...which my first time sucked because it all went into powder...but its real easy to do....dont feel like explaining it...my bad...but yea ive felt like one half was better than the other...even if it was the bigger half
 
I've never noticed much difference in my doses in a split pill. You don't think that they mix it up as well as possible before pressing the pill? I use a pill splitter, so my splits are almost perfect.
 
If you are going to dose orally, you should powder the pill and then dissolve in a known amount of water. Like a 30mg pill in 1mL of water. This way .5ml will be 15mg and .25mL will be 7.5mg.
 
It would make sense for them to be evenly distributed, as gnarleyonaharley mentioned, some people are scripted to take parts of pills, although they're also advised to get a pill splitter so they know they're getting an actual 1/2, 1/4, etc.

If you want to be really sure than go with what BrokedownPalace said. Otherwise get a pill splitter and be aware it may not exactly be 7.5.
 
yea it is tough to get it EXACTLY down the middle but it is technically evenly distributed throughout the pill....theres really no difference btwn like 7.5 and 8 mg anyway
