so i just found out that i may have to get braces. sad to say, i'm a bit of a gurner. i've generally got it under control (except for when i get really fucking high), but i'm worried that having braces may cause me to cut up my mouth. i mean, at this stage of the game, i come out of a roll unscathed like 90% of the time, but with these new things in my mouth, things that can have cutty bits on them, i'm concerned that i may just wreck the shit outta my mouth.

you cats who have braces and roll, is this a problem for you? i imagine if you started doing mdxx after you got your braces it wouldn't be such a big deal, you'd be used to them being there, but what about people who've gotten braces after they've done it before? have you found any solid workarounds? i take magnesium when i roll to reduce the face-chewing, but is that enough? i'm not really keen on soothers or candy all night long. i'm too old for that shit :p

i do take magnesium when i roll, though i'll try to make more of a regimen of it.

as for invisalign, my husband has a thing for girls with braces, and so he is super-stoked about me getting them. they have to be visible, and he gets to choose the colours :-)

idk because i have never had braces, but is there a way to wear a mouth guard with braces on? if so that would be my choice

I think it's awesome and hilarious that your husband says that he has a thing for girls with braces HAHA. Couldn't stop laughing.

I'm 41 yrs. old and just got braces last year. It doesn't bother me at all. I don't really get the strong jaw clenches when rolling but even if you do I can't see how it would affect you. I've never cut the inside of my mouth with the braces-- sometimes there is a small piece of wire sticking out back (when your teeth shift) that may poke you but that's all the cutting or poking that you'll feel.

I am 31 and just got braces put on a month ago, I chew up my mouth pretty bad usually but actually the braces make me do it much less cuz they keep my cheek away from my grinding teeth more.... and yes the wax helps a lot... my ortho also gave me little thin hard rubber "horseshoes" to chew on that I have cut down and use as I little "bite pad"
