Bro, all I know is my homie (also a fellow blue lighter) went to love fest which was after edc and in LA and to get in there was security and cops lined up everywhere and once u were in the que there was no getting out and there were dogs at the front, they were making everyone take off their shoes the whole 9 yards. Concentration camp style. And I researched online how k9s smelling works and trust me there is no way to get it past a dog. Dogs smell like we see, so even if u u seal it airtight, mix it with stronger more potent odors doesn't mean shit. The dog can still detect each individual scent emenating. People were getting arrested left and right going in the front entrance at love fest. If there ain't dogs no problem, I can rave as I always have. But if there is well it just kills the whole event and u might get arrested over the stupidest shit that u shouldn't even be able to get in trouble for. I'm so fucking paranoid because I wish I had a definitive answer. I don't wanna risk it and show up only to get in a que I can't get out of with dogs at the front
 
Yea i know there is no getting past dogs and i haven't gone to a rave for nearly a year, so showing up at the event and finding out there are dogs is going to be a total KILL for my experience. I guess just hope for the best, and this event isn't in LA or the one I'm going to at least.
 
the dog talk is making me paranoid now....going to an event in LA in a month or so....don't want to be greet by fucking dogs.

Dude, with the crazy security dogs at lovefest, was it the staff that was selling the shit?
 
over here, they manned the city rail station, so that people would have a bigger chance at getting caught. hop on that train from anywhere, if you didnt know that they were there, you get caught as you leave the exit.

Everything they do is fucked up. Yes I'm talking about same event as u guys we all know what it is this weekend but I'm just praying that because it isn't in LA it will be different people say audiotistic was fine and that was after edc but that was at same venue as this event this weekend yet it ended at 4, and this one has a new policy of ending at 2. That's what's trippin my balls!! Someone help me :'( I just wanna hve fun not get arrested
 
damn all this shit has me paranoid like a motherfucker... I just went to the event's website ( the one not in LA) and just noticed that it ends at 2... WTF?
1) how come I didnt notice this, I honestly feel like it might ruin/put a damper on my night, I always had the most fun from 2-4am... and
2) is this the policy change itself, or is this just an indication of a higher level of security overall at this festival. are there gonna be dogs? were there dogs at Audiotistic? how late did audiotistic stay open? and if there are dogs, are they REALLY going to be able to methodically search EVERYONE and arrest THOUSANDS of people? I feel like I dont really understand this situation, or how serious it is. :X
I dont even want to deal with any of this shit, and I almost just feel like I should go sober and then roll some other time... shit/.

If anyone has any advice, experience they would like to share regarding dogs/security, etc please share...
 
I don't see how it's cost effective to have drug dogs at an event like that- they are not a free basic service provided by the police department. I could be wrong, but it seems a bit extreme to have rows of trained dogs...plus, the reality is that the event would lose out on a huge amount of $ if you eliminated every person who intended to roll or do other substances. In addition, you have to consent to being smelled by a dog- it's considered a search by an officer. Do you know for sure this was the case?

just double checked this, it is true. all you have to do is repeat to the officer "i do not consent to a search."

btw, this is a legal discussion, because this is a right that we as Americans have...and as a harm reduction forum, we should all know our rights.
 
Well at best they can say u must consent in order to go to the event. They did it at love fest. This is FACT. However they did not make many arrests even on those who had possibly smuggled. (I did however hear stories of people in line straight up pulling their stash out of wherever and literall throwing it on the ground beside them, nobody saying shit and nobody picking it up as they march towards the dogs)

audiotistic did not have dogs, audiotistic did however end at 4. I say there's a 95% chance u will be fine if ur smart and do whatever you usually do to get in, however that small 5% carries a large consequence, jail among other things

Plus, if they just "casually" have the dogs around a one way entrance in which you have to pass to get in, They're really not personally searching you..

If the dog gets even a LITTLE bit angsty, that's enough for an officer for "probable cause" Especially if they find stuff on you, your rights are gone at that point.
 
Ok sooo this Might be a lil stupied! But Has anyone Just Called and asked? I'm sure someone knows that works there. I would call befor one of my kiddos(futur make belive kids) went to one of these to see for sure what was up! Expecily knowing what i know now!
 
I don't think calling is a bad idea at all, its the most direct way to get information. My guess is that if there actually are dogs, is that at most they will be able to do random inspections, similar to the way airports are handled.
 
Man security at raves never give a fuck... just act cool don't be all nervous, act as if everything is normal and they'll just say go ahead after 5-10 seconds if you can't hold yourself together for that long then lol
 
For Real I don't mind calling them up for ya! I have NO IDEA were this place is or anything LOL So someone just message me with the info if that is OK on here and I will call ASAP! I will find out what i can. I don't however know how i can represent this as Harm Reduction... I don't think the dogs will bit you... But I don't want anyone on here making stupid last min. desisions like dropping everything in your pocket at once just to keep from getting pointed out by a dog...
 
Im a greenlighter so I cant pm you, and im not supposed to identify the festival, but i think this is a very good Idea. I might just call them myself If i can find the number..
