The dirty, dirty Midwest
Up, up, up
I can feel the tracks pulling
Enjoying the high that I'm going to
But anticipating the enevitable....
Falling.....
My stomach drops to my knees
Going from such a high to such a low
Very confusing
Such a crash down to earth
Twist and turn,
How am I supposed to feel?
What am I supposed to do?
Can I please get off this ride? I'm tired
But I still want to go again
And I can't stop......

Dear Sweet Ariela,
You know, in this short piece of poetry, I could actually feel the anxiety as I climbed up, and felt the wind going through my hair as I rushed down. I think the art of poetry is brevity. The more passion you can describe with the fewer words used, to me is sheer talent.
You know, sometimes the world forces us to learn new rules of a game we do not wish to play and as a result, we are forced to get off the sandbox we are on, to join something that is not even who we are. Even when the world is going to hurt you for trying to be who you are, constantly reminding you that YOU need to change to conform to their ideals...Don't. I'd rather live with the pain than remain untrue to who I am. For in the end, that is how I go to sleep at night...with a smile on my face...the battle was hard but I stood my ground.
You're beautiful. STAY ARIELA. BE ARIELA. REgardless of the rollercoaster the world will take you on.
YOU MA HOMEGIRL!!!!! (cuz we come from the same wavelength)
Love you tons,
-Amina
