robotriping while taking an SNRI

I dont take antidepressants. I havnt had dxm for over ten years. i absoluetely loved the experience but didnt wanna keep doing it because its pretty lame to abuse cough medicine ppl would make some pretty crazy judgements about ya for drinkin a whole bottle. throwing up and the whole works.
but it's like the most powerful otc drug that's actually euphoric. im suprized its so so easy to get. they may as well be selling ketamine down at the pharmacy which i havnt had but is suppose to be simalar.
its like being on a trippy speedy drunk stoned & ya body moved around & ya can lay down & get cev & feel like ya somwhere else when ya just laying down. anyways yeah im surprized it's legal. because it's a powerful psychodelic. as strong as acid but different. & it's fucking legal.
the other otc psychodelic drug is dph which isnt very nice experience cuz it's a delerient like datura. i only had 250mg & it gave me a headache & made me feel like i was kinda dreaming but even though i wasnt asleep erowid says its a moderate dose but i think ya need to take way more than what did to trip actually see things & not just close ya eyes & feel like a dreaming a little.
i wont be bothering with that again cuz of the headache. & my intention was actually to get tired enough to get to sleep easy cuz i didnt have my antipychotic. anyways that's off topix
rikodeone with dhc has sorbital in it which gives ya diarea so thats not a good idea either.
basically the only good shit is CWE & possibly Poppy seed tea if ya can get a good batch.
they sell kava kava at the health good store but the cocatherlines (sp?) and it's not the real deal.
the 15 valiums & 600mg (im experimenting if taking it over the ceiling dose actually increases the effect) of codeine i had tonight is barely doing anything. but dxm gets me blasted at doses of even as little as 300mg.

anyways sorry for being completely off topic but here's my Q

someone i know might wanna try dxm but problems is his taking effexor an SNRI.
this is dangerous im pretty sure of cuz it can cuz serotonin snydrome.
his dose would probably be plateu 1 or prossibly plateu 2. so would he be safe to try it?

if not, whole long should be stop taking the SNRI before it would be safe.
im sure it's not as bad as mixing e with dxm but i dont want him to get sick or anything & cuz im a BLer I can give good HR advice.

Effexor is Venlafaxine and DXM is Dextromethorphan ....it don't look like a great combo

Back in my teen days I took a 1200mg dose of dxm while on Venlafaxine/Efexor. Didn't seem to boost or dampen the effects for me, I had a good, strong trip. Few years forward, I'm on a low dose SSRI called sertraline, take about 300-400mg of dxm and what followed was a horrible, horrible experience of something that felt like serotonin syndrome. It's risky, wouldn't recommend it, but if you insist on trying, use lower dose than what you usually prefer to see if you have a bad reaction.

I have done DXM on SSRI's before, even though it is very risky. The worst thing that happened to me was excessive sweating/hot flashes, some headache, and a bit of dysphoria. Much worse things can happen when mixing DXM with other serotenergic drugs. I highly advise to avoid this combination. If your friend wants to do DXM, I'd really recommend he be off the Effexor for some time just to be safe and to ensure a good experience.

This is absolutely not a safe combination as others have said - it has definite potential to cause serotonin syndrome, which can be fatal.

Effexor/venlafaxine has a relatively short half-life (although it's active metabolite hangs around a bit longer - up to 14 hours) but it is often given as an extended-release formulation so you'd want to be off it for a good 48 hours to make absolutely sure it is out of your system - and stopping venlafaxine abruptly can cause an unpleasant SSRI (or SNRI) discontinuation syndrome. It is not recommended that you stop taking venlafaxine abruptly.

I would advise your friend to give the DXM a miss - is it really worth messing about with antidepressant treatment just for the sake of trying DXM?

I would consider it more dangerous than combining it with MDMA to be honest - two serotonin releasers are bad enough, but a serotonin releaser (DXM) combined with a drug which inhibits the reuptake of the serotonin (venlafaxine) sounds like a recipe for a disaster.

Ive never tried DXM and im most likely not planning to in the very near future

i recently began using Tramadol 400mg in one go approximately 1 hour after i have comsumed my Benzo (Diazepam) i wint goto doseage is discustingly high! (almost forgot i found 1omg oxynorm that i hrew into the mix aswell as 50 mg Dipehehmaine was condumed 45 mins or so before the tramadol so hopefully i should feel some thing considering my tolerances....

Im also on Venlaxfaxine ER 150mg per day

I guess with the benzo it might be OK but I recently turned down free Tramadol because I'm on Venlafaxine and it didn't seem a good combo with regard to seizures.
