How much of a dose or how much cough syrup of Robotussin does one need to drink to get high? Is robotussin syrup in excess safe and healthy???
Is DXM a safe chemical?

What are the differences between a mushroom trip and a DXM trip???
Somebody give me advice on how to safely robo trip if I plan to do so.
Is it worth it though? or should I stick to my magical shrooms?

Personally, stick to your shrooms. All the information you require can be obtained ad nauseum via searching...

DXM combined with Mushrooms has produced a few of my most memorable trips. The visuals are beautiful, like the world is being painted in watercolors and you mind is the artist. The feeling is incredibly peaceful and zen-like. It feels very spiritual.

For best results take enough DXM for a low 3rd plateau experience, wait 1.5 hours and then eat the mushrooms so they peak at the same time.

No Tussin syrup is not healthy it's got tons of fake sugar and chemicals in it. Try to extract it if you're concerned about that. DXM on it's own isn't particularly healthy either but it should be safe in reasonable doses.

Mushrooms combine exceptionally well with DXM and also with Ketamine, but with DXM it really creates something special I've found. YMMV.

He's not asking about combining them though. And judging by his questions he may not want to.

Google DXM FAQ it's ancient and filled with all the wisdom you need. DXM is VERY different than Shrooms, but as the above posters stated, it's two great tastes that go great together...if you are into tripping while laying in bed with your eyes closed, and are not afraid to go _DEEP_.
Make sure that the only active ingredient in your cough syrup is DXM, APAP can kill you painfully over a period of several weeks, and guafastein will likely make you hurl even worse than normal syrup. Don't plan on being very social, or presentable on DXM. You might forget most of your trip if you overshoot your dose. Once a week really is too much to keep the magic for very long, and it's hard on the brain, please don't do it too often like so many of us have. That being said, I really did love the stuff, and it showed me some amazing things, including feeling connected to God and the rest of creation in a very beautiful way. Now I can't drink a cherry coke without wanting to hurl because the cherry flavor is the same they use in Robotussin.

Huge difference. I would call Mushrooms a psychedelic, and DXM a dissociative.

First of all, most of the syrup at the pharmacy contains other drugs so those are definitely not safe. There are some DXM only syrups and pills but you will be ingesting a lot of gunk either way. Swallowing 20 little red pills does not make me feel well at all. Nasty bathroom times. Never tried drinking the syrup. Mushrooms are very easy on the body compared to DXM. Getting an upset tummy from mushrooms is very different than feeling sick from DXM. Robotussin pills have made me feel like crap.

The trips are totally different as well. It's a bit much to get into, but again, way different than a psychedelic trip on Mushrooms, acid, etc.

I'd suggest against it. About 3-4 years ago I really wanted to try mushrooms but at the time had no access. I heard that DXM is called Robo tripping and figured it must be similar. It was a very bizarre experience and nothing at all like mushrooms. I guess I'm glad I did it just because it made me never want to try another dissociative again. And the damage it can cause compared to mushrooms is much greater.

I've done dxm probably 100+ times and there are some huge differences between that and mushrooms.
the first big difference is that of the body load. DXM can produce some body debilitating, highly intensive, body highs that can have you "stumped" (basically stuck in a chair) for hours. With mushrooms, you can lose things such as balance, but you're still free to move around.
with mushrooms you have really interesting visuals. you tend to see patterns and other subtle hallucinations. with dxm you tend to have more of a closed eye hallucinatory experience.
they act in completely different ways. I was a HGE fan of DXM for a long time. the problem was that I abused it daily for a while, which lead to a loss of magic.
When i started DXM tripping I would take doses around 200 mg, and be completely fucked. I would suggest a dose such as that to new comers. I literally Love both mushrooms and dxm. at this point in time, however, i like mushrooms more because I over-used and abused dxm. If you're going to trip on DXM, make it once a week at MOST. I strongly suggest listening to Sigur Ros' album Takk. It took me to places on DXM that i've never been on ANY other psychadelic.
good luck and be safe.

Thanks guys I am reading through your posts I was a bit busy these days . I am gonna get some shrooms during the next week cause I want to trip on shrooms. Been on binging on Kratom lately though. Mushrooms are awesome I made a post on them. Thank you Pink Cloud, I will look about I will check the ingredients in my robotussin before i drink it and if dont robo trip then I will have to trip on Shrooms in my country it can be a bit harder to find dxm than in the states. I have my Robotussin bottle from the states with me only one bottle it was for coughs lol then I figured out you can trip on it hence why i asked the questions.

Best way i've always looked at it is, Shrooms and DXM are both psychedelics, but project your perception in opposite directions. Shrooms and other tryptamines tend to propel you forward into hyper-reality, in which your sensations are all boosted and especially enhance your understanding of visual, tactile, and auditory senses. Shrooms tend to shift your consciousness in a manner that amplifies your surroundings and current emotional plane, sending you into sensational oblivion. DXM, and other dissociatives, do the exact opposite. These substances tend to propel you backwards, away from yourself, so that rather than heightening your emotional complex, they diminish it. Your vision will begin to see less of reality, rather than more of it, you will not be able to hear more of reality, rather your auditory sensations will begin to distort and flange. It also reduces your ability to feel tactile sensations greatly, and thus often results in a diminishing perception of gravity.

To sum it up, I look at everyday reality to be viewed in a pseudo-1st person perspective, or 2nd person. You sort of tell a story about yourself. Shrooms and other tryptamines propel you into the 1st person, in which real time is experienced seemingly for the first time ever, in which you live out your experiences directly. DXM and other dissociatives tend to shift you back into 3rd person mode, in which you observe your actions from a distance.

Both can be fun or scary, introspective or extroverted experiences. But in general, i think this sums them up nicely.

Think sensory overload versus sensory deprivation. Both can produce vivid hallucinations.

DXM is an NMDA antagonist and K-opioid agonist dissociative, an SNRI (serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor). It's also a sigma and (weak) mu-opioid agonist.

As such you can expect some rather mild pain-killing effects, euphoria, enhanced music appreciation and stimulation from its SNRI effects. Primarily though it's a dissociative, and you will feel detached from your body and mind, often feeling like you're viewing your actions from behind a screen. Dissociatives provide a rather cold detached trip where people often go to escape negative emotions and just witness the awe inspiring scenery that unfolds beyond their eyes at higher doses. As a dissociative many users find DXM quite addictive and many users have reported cognitive problems after regular use.

Psilocybe mushrooms on the other hand are 5HT1A, 5HT2A and 5HT2C agonists, and are a traditional psychedelic rather than a dissociative.

They can produce euphoria but it's less set in stone than DXM and it's very easy to have a bad experience in the wrong mindset as they don't have the emotional blunting/coldness that dissociatives usually produce. The experience can open you up to a whole new level of thinking and emotion, offering somewhere inbetween a recreational and spiritual experience, they can show you depths of your mind you never even knew existed, both good and bad. Unlike DXM, being a traditional psychedelic Psilocybe mushrooms quickly build acute (short term) tolerance and are very hard to abuse, as such addiction is virtually unheard of, and at a regular dose they are almost physically benign.

Hope this helps. I'd normally merge this with the DXM thread but I'll leave this open for a little while first to see if anyone can offer any more comparisons. Just remember that we do not allow what should I take threads - we can't tell you whether DXM is right for you or not, you should read the Big & Dandy DXM Thread and the appropriate subthreads listed with in - make up your own mind from there. :)
