Robitussin Question

Ok so I went to Rite Aid today and saw a couple bottles of this stuff. I understand if you drink it for recreational purposes it has some value. But you have to get the right one with Dextromethorphan being the active ingredient right? Ok so here we have 2 bottles.

Bottle 1 Active ingredients: Dextromethorphan HBR, USP 15 MG 4 OZ Long Acting Cough. ( Blue and white box ).
Bottle 2 Active ingredients: Dextromethorphan 15 MG Gauifenesin 200 MG 4 OZ Maximum Strength


I understand if I drink the wrong stuff I will get very sick. Are any of these the right thing?

Stay away from bottle 2. Gauifenesin is not something you want in your system in big amounts.

bottle 2 is worthless IMO. you want bottle #1

the only active ingredient that is safe is DXM, if the syrup has anything else, DO NOT abuse it.

get delsym (DXM XR) which only has dxm. i like DXM XR better because i feel like i get more DXO than DXM and it feels cleaner. however it is more expensive. if you want DXM IR which also is nice, robotussin makes a syrup that is in a bottle with a blue wrapper that has ONLY DXM which is safe. major chain pharmacies and grocery stores have generic pure DXM IR (15mg/mL) syrup which are much cheaper
