Robbie Robertson vs Levon Helm

We all know the argument, Robetson says he wrote all the songs and Levon says it was a collective effort.

I agree with both in a sense. Robbie Robertson clearly actually wrote the songs lyrics, melodies to certain extent, and chord progressions as clearly proven in the countless band song sketches. But you wouldnt of had the band sound on the songs without the unique voices and instruments of the other members. Also the band without Robbie couldnt reproduce the sound as Robbies solo stuff couldnt. Ultimately I feel robbie is right to be given the writing credits. What say you?
