Robadope speed testing

I tested some speed the other day, and it gave the speed reaction directly after the robadope reagent was applied, so what is the buffer for then? instructions said to apply 2-4 drops of buffer after robadope application.

Firstly make sure you are getting a primary amine (amphetamine) reaction. The colour of robadope out of the bottle is already a slight reddish colour. You might want to do another test to be sure. Use robadope onto the substance and then just use it by itself as a control measure. If by 60 seconds the two are significantly different then you will have a proper reaction.

The buffer will help the reaction to occur. Generally you won't get a reaction with either Simons or Robadope reagent until you apply the buffer. It does happen sometimes that you can get a reaction without applying the buffer - I have seen it myself with Simons, but it is quite rare.

yes cause for me, immediately after one drop of roba, it turned orange.. and it sure as hell was speed.
application of the buffer reaction did not change anything..
if the robadope reagent is reddish, how can a reaction to orange then possibly be spotted?

With Robadope I also have a spot test right next the real one to ensure there is a colour difference, when you compare the two after about 120 seconds there is a marked difference.
