Recently drove over to mate's house in the city. To my suprise i was pulled over for a rbt and a random drug test. Unfortunately for me i had a few cones the night before. THe officer came back with the results saying that the results were 'feint but not really there' (wtf does that even mean...) and that i'd a warning and if i get pulled over again , the officer can see my official warning for the 'drug driving offence'.

Questions;
1. How is it a result is 'feint but not really there?'
2. How often does marijuana stay in your saliva?
3. Can my prospect employers see that i got this warning? and is it a criminal record type thing?

I was listening to an interview on triple j yestereday with a Victoria Police representative and he stated that they are currently only testing for THC and methamphetamine but soon they'll be able to test for MDMA at possibly every booze bus... Plus, he also went on to say that detection is possible for 24 hours for methamphetamine and MDMA, and THC can only be detected for a couple of hours or while you are still 'stoned'. The interviewer asked specifically about getting a positive drug test when your not even 'high' and the police representative made it pretty clear that you won't get a positive drug test on monday morning (unless you went out sunday night) for speed or pills, and daily cannabis smokers won't get busted either due to their already high amounts of thc in the system..

ok... So.. I got fucked over.

Research the tests used, don't trust what a cop says on the radio (even though that sounds about right)

With the current testing methods they can't afford to test everyone so they may have the tests at every bus but they wont always be used...

^That last bit didn't make sense to me, but you can actually get a ticket for failing a drug test while driving?!?!

Erowid will have the answer to #2.

Seems like sober chauffer could become a nice job of the future

The thing im scared most about is the 'official warning' thing.. it sounds like its recorded and that employers can see that thing.. can they? its really bugging me and felt like i got fucked over for doing nothing.

If a possession of marijuana charge in personal amounts isn't recorded permanently so that employers can see it, I don't see why a DUI of marijuana would be any different. I could be way off though.

i doubt you have a lot to worry about. id say if they told you they can see "somethign faint" and theyve given you a warning means that they realized you had it in your system but you obviously werent stoned.

just chill, you wont be having anything put on your record for now.

hopefully. So employers cant see official warnings and stuff? apparently i can get pulled over and sent the hospital for a blood test.
I think that will spell doom if that happends. Im gonna catch a train for the next couple of months.

I am interested regarding the daily smoker thing. Being one myself and having to drive everyday atm in order to get anywhere. I tend to only smoke at night before bed kind of thing, and have always been worried about driving but have managed to avoid being tested so far (only just dodged it a few times now). Its inevitable that I will get tested sooner or later so the question is, because I always have a certian amount of THC in my system, chances are its going to show up. Are they indeed testing for concentration levels to detirmine if it is imparing my ability to drive? Or is it simply any THC detected equals me getting in the shit?

Sorry if that didnt make much sense, a nice codine buzz and a few cones make for a slightly confused state of mind :p

Firstly if you didnt get written up or recieved a fine, you do not have a recorded traffic infringement.

DUI is a traffic infringement, and if you are fined it will be recorded.

Sounds more like mr.officer just wanted to scare you.

I have had 2 friends tested is seperate incidences, both had smoked in under 5 hours previously (one had a "pipe or two" and the other had a couple of cones), both tested negative.

Neither said they felt stoned, both are daily smokers.

I think there was an article from Nimbin hemp embassy where they purchased some drugwipe testers and had wildly swinging results, it was not a very scientific approach though, still an interesting read.

personally it pisses me off there is no clearly made approximate time for non-detection.
