Ritalin, benzos & pregnancy

So, I may be preggers n I'm on the following:

20 mg Ritalin 2 xs a day
2 mg kpin 2 xs a day
Up to 5 mg alprazolam prn daily
100 mg Zoloft
50 mg trazodone
Other random crap.

Question is how should I titrate off mainly the benzos and adhd med?

Dr hasn't set a plan bc my family dr appt isn't til Monday so he doesn't want to "jump to conclusions for nothing". @@ I want my baby safe even if it's a very small chance I am.

Before I'm asked, I didn't do a home test bc I have a rare genetic disorder (X-linked adrenalukodystrophy) that affects various levels in my body n with all 5 kiddos only hcg by blood showed up.

Should I start lowerin my doses, quit cold turkey or what would u do?

Honestly, if it were me, I would not do anything until Monday when you find out for sure at your doc appt. I am with you that I would want to do what is best for the baby while pregnant but 2 days of waiting is not going to make any difference at all. Then, too, you don't start messing with your dosages for no reason if it is negative. The main concern you would have with these meds would be withdrawals when born and since you have plenty of time to make a decision on how to taper (and if to taper) then there shouldn't be any issues right now.

As far as tapering if you find out you are pregnant I would speak with your doctor. I certainly would not go cold turkey as this can cause more stress than positive effects.

MissMeYet, That's what I'm thinking. I have taken my adhd n benzos VERY few times since realizing "shit, period is missin" lol. I won't go into the constant cryin over, literally, spilled milk/water and 101 other annoying symptoms. LOL.

Prob not the place but can I ask the women a TMI question?

What else would b causing breast milk besides pregnancy? My cbc was normal so no infection or cancer of the breast. I read breast leakage could b cancer but my white cell count is perfect.

I just didn't want to quit cold turkey n have a seizure or some shit.

Do not do anything until you see the doctor. Stopping your meds could cause you to miscarry from the withdrawals. I'm not sure how doctors go about dealing with benzo use during pregnancy, but I guess you may find out.
