I have been on SSRI's for the past 7 months and recently been given a perscription for ritalin, to see if it improves my conentration in school etc... So my first day taking it, I decided to take 2 10mg pills, and see what happens. Well, I didnt notice it at first, but I felt really high, like almost as if I took a little bit of E and speed, i was really hyper, and I felt really loved up, like I wanted to go around huging everyone. But, coming down off it was harsh, not as bad as E, but pretty close. I felt miserable, very tired, and generally distance from reality.
I was wondering, what other peoples experience has been with these drugs, and how their experiences vary to mine. And, if anyone has any other suggestions for drugs that help people with ADD, any help would be great thanks :)

have taken ritalin 2 help study once, i found it really just let me sit there and concentrate much better than would normally be possible. The comedown i was a bit sketchy, always forgetting simple things.

Being on an SSRI does not effect the ritalin high....and you shouldn't feel loved up on ritalin, it doesn't really have that effect. Sounds like you are mentally linking the feeling of being stimulated (which happens on e and on ritalin) with the feeling of being loved up (which only happens on e). But yeah, there's no serotonin release on ritalin so don't be looking for that loved up feeling...then again if you get that kind of feeling good for you...just realize though that it is in your mind.

I was on Celexa, and have been on pretty much all levels of rit as well. I never experienced anything like you described.

What you felt was a 'speed buzz'. That's what happens the first time you do uppers. I rolled before I started using adderall and dexedrine, etc, but the first time I did adderall, I felt like I was rolling. This is what happened to you.
So then, you keep taking it and, like e, it gets boring and less euphoric after a while. Rittlin is candy. If you liked that, try 30mg of adderall, or 15 mg of crushed dexedrine. You'll feel on top of the world.
