it's strange, i had just finished reading "fear and loathing in las vegas" after watching the movie several times when my dad actually told me that thompson had killed himself. it was just a complete jaw-drop for me. i'd just finished the last page of the book not 20 minutes before!
the first thing i said was "really?!" and the second was "well, i guess he had all those guns around..."
i never even considered it for you, man. RIP Hunter.

I have heard that he had received news that his bones had become dangerously brittle and then, true to his ideology of Hemingway, he took himself while he could and before he couldn't live up to himself.
