Nas' debut Illmatic is a fucking belter too! I don't like any of his other material, but Illmatic really is a work of genius.

I'd say Zombywoof has a generally good taste in tunes from what he posts in the music thread, but I ageee he cannae just dismiss a whole genre of music due to numpties like Kanye West..
 
It took me yonks before I widened my musical repertoire. Considering I'm an actual musician I'm still dumbfounded it took me so long to extend my listening experience.
 
@Zomby - I see, so it's not just rap, I take it you're not a massive electronic music fan either then, you like your instruments?

I always feel that if Mozart was kicking about today he wouldn't bother with a full orchestra once he got his napper around Ableton and realised all of the sounds he could make and compose in his bedroom! He'd be a world class DJ and producer, haha.
 
I like some of the New Romantic stuff I must say. Some right good 80s classics fall into that genre, although yeah, I imagine it was a horrendous time for a metal head. I was only a wee boy in the 80s.

Edit: I love my electronic music though, love my Krautrock, so the 80s synth pop thing sounds good to me.

^ Aye, Mozart was a 'true' genius that Beethoven couldn't quite achieve, even though he was obviously pretty fucking awesome. Beethoven admired Mozart, that is saying something.
