Brad was certainly keen to obtain drugs... sending parcels of drugs Internationally to a country in the far east. That's a very dangerous life to live. Don't blame your self for it's unfortunate outcome.
I'm suspicious about the idea the parcel was intercepted. The parcel must have been worth quite a lot of money, I do wonder if there was some corruption on the part of his American "middle man".
It's sad that the strict rules of authorities created enough stress which may have lead to his death (That's how I depicted your post). Makes you wonder what they're trying to achieve, it's certainly not harm-reduction.
