If it doesn't make sense : good. It's got meaning, but I don't exactly hope for people to understand, but then again I do. This is highly experimental (and I wanted to put this in the "Experimental" section on deviantart, but they didn't have a category beyond Cyber and Typo; bastards), so read it a few times before slamming it.

Yes, I must credit influences of weird thought patterns to inscence, Massive Attack, sleepiness, and the dark. Not to mention a scrumptious pen~

"rhapsodic"

take arms, anti-star
subject, cloud-eyed and drop
delivery service: an antidote cocktail
eve and adam, all wrapped in three.
apex and cry, don't we all have what we want.
euphonic in cursive, five til seven
swimming in notions, date with wonder
glow my peripheral, honey, deny me rest.
crash me down, blow me up
night once day, dusk once dawn.

Ahhhh, very close, and I'm glad you all enjoy it. To simply put it: It's an ode to Ecstasy.

I started writing the poem in the dark, not under any influence of any drug or substance. Sooner or later it just turned into it, right about at the 2nd line. Now I'l provide a line-by-line explanation:

take arms, anti-star (I was listening to "Antistar" by Massive Attack, very ambient)

subject, cloud-eyed and drop (no idea what I just said, but this is where I decided it was turning into X with "drop")

delivery service: an antidote cocktail ("antidote" as in some kind of healing agent, referring again to the theme)

eve and adam, all wrapped in three. (a play on words, "ADAM" is slang for MDMA, the chemical name of E.)

apex and cry, don't we all have what we want. ("apex" as in the peak, when the drug is most potent; "cry, don't we all have what we want" meaning the intensity of euphoria and wholeness of everything)

euphonic in cursive, five til seven (no idea, but "five til seven" was referring to the time one would start coming down, or having the last really noticable effects of the drug if taken around 1 AM)

swimming in notions, date with wonder (all of the ideas that flood your mind, and the unity with the world)

glow my peripheral, honey, deny me rest. (sometimes a "glowing" can still be felt and seen; the deny me rest is rather explanatory, but for a period of 1-3 hours you can't really sleep after it)

crash me down, blow me up (describing the possible effects a day or so after the drug has worn off : perhaps a feeling of sadness and dissatisfaction with the world, or a great, new feeling accompanied with hope)

night once day, dusk once dawn. (taking the "crash" route and saying that things depressed and kinda got a little bit worse.)

Yeah, prolly not what one would expect. But still, that's it. Hope you enjoyed the explanation. If you have any more questions, I'm always open to them =D

It's funny that you say you have "no idea", because I find it's often the words that come from some unknown place, some mental nowhere, some inscrutable black box that are the most memorable. And I found "euphonic in cursive" was one of the phrasings that really caught me when I read this.

And the last 3 lines, as yakksoho quoted, I think are probably the most accomplished of the piece; they're at once recognisable and strange.
