My guess is that he is waiting to publish his book until he dies. That way he could continue to conduct his work, making the index larger.

I don't know where but I had read this somewhere, that he plans on publishing it posthumously.

I finished both books not too long ago (the 'story' sections that is). Both him and his wife are quite good with the pen. It's not often you'll find a pair whose specialty, being grounded in a scientific background, is in my opinion as evenly matched in such a dissimilar craft. Both are exceedingly enjoyable reads, considering the autobiographical nature.
