dope party and respect to everyone that is involved in it. I had a great time and Dara was a great warm up for pure DnB...great seeing everyone out there also....

now i also wanted to say someone picked up my camera last night. It was laying on the big desk behind the visuals screen to the right of the stage in the main room (if your looking at the stage). It was a yellow disposable camera. Now i dont really care if it was by accedent or purpose i dont give a fuck about the camera but there were pictures on it that cant be replaced. They are pictures of my friends wedding. So if anyone hears of someone that found a camera with pictures like this please get ahold of me i just really want the pics i had taken. It will be easy to know cause my big goofy ass is in all the pics and im in a suit in a few of them and there are of course wedding pics and so forth lol

one love,
kyle

thanks bret but you must have missed me asking doug 50 times what i can do, where are the brooms, what needs to be done with no answer. I sat around waiting for an hour for him to be able to get back to me with no response untill if you dont have equipment in your hands you need to leave dud came out of his mouth, which boggled my mind and i split.

second... brandon, better luck in the club scene... i hope you really do stay out, you are just not cut out right for it or somethin cause that shit was soo fuckin whack

blah to all

Now that I've gotten some sleep ... This party was AWESOME!

Dara is now my new favorite DJ ...

oh well maybe the next one will be better no one died that night so all in all it was a pretty good night . well except for that girl in the white letting it all go all over the front walk way.

whenever you thow a party, you can't count on getting a certain number of people. all the money that the people throwing it has goes into the party, and paying headliners/other djs. if you get a low turnout, especially lower than you expected... you loose money. people can go broke throwing parties just so you kids have somewhere to go have fun! its not the persons fault whos throwing the party, its not the people who decided not to come to the party for one reason or another, it just happens and you have to deal with it.

stop bitching about it. just consider it a loss and move on. all in all it was a successful party with a good vibe. and btw local djs play at clubs and bars and don't get paid, yet get pissed off if the turnout was low and they can't get paid right away? wtf? ive seen amazing djs play for nothing and play to only 3 or 4 people and be satisfied. especially in indiana you should be thankful that people are throwing PARTIES again, so that you can play to more than on the club/bar circut.

yeah, there are many people who start useless drama, lies, and rumors, those who say that they are helping thow a party when their just a chump, and its sad, but ive come to expect this from people in the scene and that is whats really sad. maybe its just me but i never felt negative towards the scene until recently when everyone started drama with everyone. thats what i think the problem in indy is. there is too much drama involved for it to be positive for everyone involved. it makes me sad to here false rumors about people i know, or even myself, especially if the person starting it knows its false. your negativity is hindering the scene. if you want a scene back, bond together instead of looking for yourselves only.

as for me, since ive been hearing loads about "me," ive been going to parties since 2000 with josh. and yes, i really don't consider this to be "my" scene. ive just always seemed to be involved around it, but i dont consider myself a raver. i enjoy going to parties because i love dancing, and i enjoy mediums of the music. the thing that i loved about it at first was how close everyone seemed to be, (or course later i learned why), but it intrigued me. instead of cliques and people who would rather kick your ass than talk to you, people were nice whether they were on drugs or not. (cept for those damned tweekers). and im sick of the drama. at least in other scenes that ive been completely ingrossed in, people will say things to your face instead of behind your back.

so stop making allegations. stop the drama and the bullshit. and give gary and everyone else props for throwing this party and giving you somewhere in indy with a kick ass dj to listen.

im done. and if i offend you... well thats your problem. this has been bothering me for a while, and just felt it needed to be said.

People need to remember that when companys stop making
enough money to just cover costs (NOT PROFIT,COSTS TO MAKE IT HAPPEN) it isnt worth it, or they have to raise their
prices which makes it harder to throw partys.

.....
sorry about that deep shit but its been bugging me

It was probably 3 years before SiN productions made their first dime
off of parties.... good ole Rick Thompson would throw money on an
event from his and some buddy's part time job... it's was pretty much
guaranteed to lose money b-c the scene was so new in Indy and no
one really knew how to handle the business aspect of it... this was back
in 1993...

Then there was this other dude who, after Indy's first shut down,
continued to throw parties every now and again... along with this
chick... the dude's name was Mike Bledsoe... and the girl's name
was Erin Vernon... now, me and Mike had our differences, but he
had my respect b-c in the 4 years that he threw parties, he made
money on 1 of them, and lost MAD money on most of them... he's
probably lost more in one night than this whole party cost (Twilight 2,
anyone!?!?!?!?! eek!!!!)

Erin was another person who lost more than she made... but she
continued...

These were people who had real love... the point: so long as you have
the love... then you have the means and the way to do it... it may not
always be the biggest baddest... but it's always there...

This ain't the first time gary lost some loot... but he keeps coming back...
for one reason or the other... he knows, by now, that he ain't gonna
be rich doing this... but he always comes back...

Honestly, if you're throwing a party, you should plan to lose money...
and be ok with it... in fact, you should budget with the knowledge that
there's two kinds of "breaking"...

1) total breaking even = all costs paid for

2) breaking to "make it out alive" = investment loss, but every Dj, prod.
cost (venue, sound, et.al.) is paid for

if you are not in a position where #2 is "ok" by you -- ie you won't go
hungry or rent won't get paid or cellphone will get turned off, then maybe
you should re-evaluate your stance in promoting in the zero-three.

for every success, you'll have at least 3 non-successes... and you have
to be ok with those odds... or don't bet.

it's a gamble... and you don't get mad at the house for you crapping out.

Tho' Gary and i have admittedly started out on shakey ground, I do have
alot of respect for him since he is still here after some pretty earth-
moving losses. But he can take solace in that we've all been there...

Try breaking even on a party with Keoki, Dave Aude', and the uk's Geezer...! eeeek!

mad props to Gary for continuing on in the face of so much adversity.

I just think that if you are friends of the prodution company
that doesnt mean you get in free. I mean when we say ( I
support the scene it doesnt mean I show up for free .) If
you dont dj for free or help with the prodution then at least
throw some money into it - I mean you have 1-2 months to
come up with 20$, no excuse im broke. everyone who wants
to claim they are part of our scene needs to help the scene.

<<< I always try to do my part>>>

peace with love and understanding

p.s check out Mantis and Snap, Crakle and Pop cause they are goin to kick ass!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow! DRAMA! Good Job!! A+

Thanks to all that came out and all that helped out. This party was a sucsess in the end simply because we didn't get shut down. Must I remind everyone that we are still under a lot of scrutiny from the city. To be able to pull off an event with out a hitch is an acomplishment. I agree with Kid K about the venue. It's time to move b4 they "big brother" center in on us.
Dara's set was great! So was everyone else's from what I've been told.

Thanks and Goodbye,
Kent

I think the party was a sucess. It did not get shut down, even I was surprised.
Raves are risky business nowdays(I'm longing for 1999). It takes real kahonas to promote a party, let alone in indianapolis. Props to those who risked there ass to bring it back.
I still think 21+ is the way to go. If you were there for dieselboy, you know.
Remember Space at Eden? Those events were bad ass. The people showed. Not to mention countless talent that indy has seen within the last few years(at clubs).
Indy needs a stable night (21+) promoted by someone who knows the ropes. It could be huge. This is the future.

I remember that night Brandon... I lost $6000 on that party. I don't know many people that can say they lost that much of their own money on a party. And i have NEVER asked Brandon for that money or had any sort of beef with him because of that night. Its the way the scene goes,,,you win some...you loose most.

Anyway I had fun and so did a few newbies that I brought. They had a blast and that is all that matters. This is a growing process and it will have its bumps and bruises, but like everything special, this won't happen overnight. Just keep coming out and supporting the scene and you will see it starting to grow.

getting into the clubs can be a good thing BUT also
has its downfalls. diesel boy was great it was even
better because SALEM paid for it.
its even harder to bring a headliner to a club because you
dont have all the under age kids to help pay for it. alot
of clubs expect the promoters to pay for the djs.
Ohio gets away with it because all thier clubs are 18+.
Alot of over 21 people in indy want to hear what they
hear on the radio. NOT ENOUGH OPEN CLUBERS IN INDY

dara fuckin owns u..i got there soooooo late. i was wearing the fuck off shirt if anyone remembers. i have still yet to meet all u damn bluelighters...too much drama shit to read..so i skipped it...thanx gary for da party...and parker brotherz were cool..i loved the gangsta shit shirt...ill have one soon...and thanx for hookin it up wit a cd. been bumpin that shit...i wish that bar was open..i would have had a bigger smile..and it was a long weekend...fun regardless ~damoN~

hey to the person who stole my camera at this event - first off its not cool that you took advantage of my problems with the owner of the venue to steal the camera off the production table - but second, it is of no use to you... the audio on it is broken - the only thing it is good for is taking a live camera feed from a dj and mixing it over the rest of my show doing "ravE" video... unless you going to do a silent film - i mean it isnt even good for filming a little kids birthday or something - the audio just doesnt work...

so dont throw it away or anything like that - now i dont have a camera to use for a dj cam next time, and dont have to money to replace it... it is of a lot of use to me, and i would like it back - give it to doug garys or joe brandon (im sure you know who they are) or just leave it on their door step or mailbox if you think this is a trap - i wont pursue trying to find out who you are - i mean i guess i cant blame you for jacking it - but i dont see how its of any use to you with the audio broken - in case the person who took it isnt on bluelight, if anyone knows who took it - make sure they dont throw it away or pawn it or something - it is of use to me and would like to get it back, again no questions asked...
