Reverse tolerance?...

Hi,
I was on hydrocodone earlier for chronic pain and recently was switched to oxycodone and taken off the hydro. The oxy was a bit too much for me the 3 weeks I was on it. I had a moderate tolerance to the hydro as it took about 20mgs for relief. After I switched back to the hydro I took, per usual, 20mgs. Well, not only did it mess me up (got high duh) but it made me super nauseous. Sooo my question is, can being on a stronger opiate lower your tolerance for the weaker one? Is that even possible? I'm not complaining just didn't know it could happen...?

Thanks all
