Hey, Ive been looking around a bit to find out why N2O causes a reverse tolerance.
Last night I had a box with a group of friends and the 10 bulbs totally messed me up, I had a great time, but the fact that it affects me more each time concerns me.
I read that someone on this board thought that it was due to the breakdown of lipid membranes, I know this is pretty unlikely. Form what I can gather N2O works by getting into the intermembrane space, seperating it and preventing receptors because they cannot transmit/receive chemical signals across the increased distance. Does that sound about right, I know there is no conclusive research on this yet.
The membranes are fluid enough to rearrange themselves (hopefully) so the affect of the N20 wears off because the receptors peposition themselves. But then why the increased tolerance, surely there is some damage being done to the lipids or the receptors themselves?
