Misc Resveratrol overdose!

So many of you have probably heard of the wonder-supplement resveratrol. Well I had a bad experience last night. My resveratrol was 3-4 months old and I did take more than the bottle suggested. So I'm not sure if it went bad or if I simply took too much. Anyways, here's what happened. First my eyes became extremely itchy and swelled shut. A terrible itch and literal inability to open my eyes. Then I got a massive headache and testicle ache at the same time. My balls, head, and abdomen were in deep pain for a good 4 hours until I passed out. While I was in this pain, I was hallucinating. I didn't even know I was in my apartment. I was very cold (and it was in the 80s-70s outside, with my window open) and paralyzed. So, ice cold paralyzed hallucinating with balls, abdomen, and head in pain and itchy eyes that I couldn't open. My eyes are solid red this morning, they look like they are cooking marbled steak. And my balls and head are sore. Know what you're doing before you use this supplement. 8(

The LD-50 of resveratrol has been listed from 1000mg/kilo of bodyweight to >2000mg/kilo (http://www.resveratrol-in-china.com/en/article_A002.asp?title=Physical and chemical properties). Thus a 170lbs person (77 kilos) would need to take 77 grams. This would not include binders, fillers, etc... Most supplements contain 250-500mg. There are not published cases of any acute side-effects that I uncovered with an initial search. Do you have any food allergies or are on any medications? What was the company?

I used about 1.5 grams throughout the course of a day. I weigh around 145 lbs. It was the first day I had quit smoking cigarettes. I was trying to use it as a quit smoking aid.

1.5 grams is safe. "Fortunately" it seems to be intense withdrawal symptoms associated with the smoking cessation -- perhaps more common than you hear about. Good luck, lock in the mentality, it is worth it.

I've never heard of the drug so I meandered over to Drugs.com to have a read. (I find that the site is one of the best at providing accurate and a variety of information.) This may not have anything at all to do with you but I wanted to put it out there. One of the things that I noticed about the drug is that it may make you bleed. There are warnings concerning using this drug with blood thinning medication, before or after surgery, and the likes. So, if you're an IV drug user then you may wish to take care if you're going to use this drug.

nicotine has a way of messing with the effects of other drugs. Like, if you use to take a drug for a while, and then you take nicotine for a while, after, the drug you used to take will have different effects, better or worst depending on many factors. Symptoms like this aren't uncommon after using nicotine for quite a while.

In my case, immediatly after using nicotine for a few weeks, Dexedrine feels more like Adderall on the nervous system and I can feel a slight headache when it first kicks in.

In my opinion the brain needs time to adjust from nicotine to another substance. I took Dexedrine full dose after taking nicotine for exercise purposes and it didn't work out so well for me as some bluelight members have noticed 2 months ago.
