Benzos Restoril (temazepam) opinions?

I've used temaz for years - still get it scripted now - and it's always been my favourite benzo. Would take something very special to beat it but have a hankering after nimetazepam. As others have noted - less is more... to a point. Some of the dickswinging doses mentioned in this thread are ridiculous - overdoing it doesn't work too well. I find up to around 50mg works best and anything much over 100mg is pointless. And chew/crush them if tablets cos it makes all the difference. For me at least.

And cos it's a temaz thread... "Sit down and gouch out at your own leisure" %)

yes, i did take much too much when id have shens. Thats when i thought 30mg=.5mg alpraz or clonazepam, or around there, so id get rediculous. And there is no one on earth who can say benzos dont make them wanna take more. Its always more drugs=moer fun on benzos, along with always thinking youre fine, when youre fucked up bad most of the time. hence why i like speed..which is a nasty nasty nasty beast.

that's the biggest mistake many ppl make with temazepam (or really any other hypnotic) when trying to equalize the dose with other benzos like xanax or klonopin.

the charts say that 20 mg temazepam = 0.5 mg alprazolam = 10 mg diazepam, but that is really misleading because as many will testify...20 mg temazepam feels considerably stronger than 0.5 mg of alprazolam.

so someone who takes like 3 mg of alprazolam will usually foolishly believe that taking 120 mg temazepam (which is the equivalent dose as per the charts)...but its not the case. 120 mg temazepam feels stronger than 3 mg alprazolam.

this is the case with all other benzo hypnotics.
 
yup. 30mg of temazepam will have me feeling real impaired, but not enough to deny it

The sedation produced by benzodiazepines in therapeutic doses and overdose has a poor correlation with measured drug concentration but is increased with rapid absorption.[52][53][54][55] Temazepam is more rapidly absorbed and oxazepam is more slowly absorbed than other benzodiazepines.[56][57][58][59][60] Further research is required to determine if the rate of absorption is different in overdose and is sufficient to explain the differences in sedation. Slowing the rate of absorption may reduce toxicity, but this would also reduce their sedative effect in therapeutic doses.[61] Drug regulatory authorities should be aware that changes in formulation of benzodiazepines may affect toxicity in overdose.

Pharmacodynamic factors such as benzodiazepine receptor affinity and potency may also be important. Because of the wide variations in half life, adjustments for dose by conversion into defined daily doses or diazepam equivalents is imperfect.[62] These are designed to compare use rather than potency. Though they correlate reasonably well with sizes of prescriptions and tablets, they may not account for potency per tablet taken in overdose.[63]

i dont understand, i had alot of vals in me last n ight, got my temaz's this morning and over the course of the day had 180mg, that should of destroyed me but i could function fairly well, only thing that bothered me was heavy cns depression but guess that was from the vals aswell.

I was just prescribed adderall and temazepam, 10mg each, a couple of days ago. Instr said one adderall in the morning, and one temaz at night. I got a great buzz off the adderall, and after about 12 hours, took three more. Aside from a rumbly stomach and a near-headache most of the day, things were good. Here it is about 30 hours later, and sleep doesn't seem to be an option...although the buzz is pretty much gone. I've never taken either of these before, and I'm chasing that first speed amp, finally realizing it ain't gonna happen. Vicoprofen was the best speed I've ever had, but built up resistance, and taking 8-10 7.5mg was maintenance. After a couple of years without them....they don't cut it any more.

Update, looks like 16 adderall are gone within 30 hours. Have I already built up a tolerance to this? Damn....that didn't take long.

I've been reading all over this site, and have seen more than once that taking both of these can produce an interesting high. I'm having trouble understanding that one...the last thing I want is to lose the speed....no nervous or jittery issues with it. I have no interest in hallucinations......suggestions, options? Thanks...I've learned a LOT about these two new scripts.

I wonder if the same applies to generic adderall with no "release" properties? First time ever taking it..did away with 27 10mgs over four days. Nothing close to the buzz I got the first day, taking only one. Kept chasing it, slept some, no crash. I'm so frustrated, just don't get it....feel like I wasted 26...
